This is the darker part of the Allman Brothers Buffalo connection, from the May 1st, 1970 The Buffalo News.

The murder took place across the street from what is now Terrapin Station Buffalo!

Their band leader was later acquitted after a judge ruled that touring with the Allman Brothers drove him insane. (Yes, this is real.)

We are curious how much Wednesday's screening of Gregg Allman: The Music of My Soul will touch on this, if at all...!

Don't be shocked if Buffalo pops up in this Wednesday's screening of Gregg Allman: The Music of My Soul!

Gregg Allman actually lived in Buffalo at the tail end of the 1970s to treat a drug addiction at BryLin Hospital.

It was during this time that he held a surprise concert (with then-wife Cher in tow!) at Canisius High School on Oct. 20, 1976.

(We're sorry if the last couple days were a little stuffyโ€”it takes a little time to get going!)

As you can see from this 1941 The Buffalo News article, the miracle of modern air conditioning was always a major selling point.

Note too how it describes our current marquee, which Shea's installed with HVAC system. The color scheme was different: it was heavy on icy blue!

We probably changed things around when we switched to our snap-on plastic letter system.
