the third and final piece from my 'Inheritance' triptych.

Not everything passed down is meant to nourish you. Some of what gets left behind leaves a mark that never fully heals. It burns, it hollows you out, and it forces you to carry a wreckage you can't separate from yourself.

There is a strange beauty in what survives the fire. Even in the deepest absence, a light remains holding space for what was lost. Proof that beauty can be forged from the ashes.

'Inheritance (Absence),' acrylic and spray paint on cradled wood panel, 12" x 12".

On view now for Next Gen, presented by All Star Press x Thinkspace Projects . The show runs until November 3rd at All Star Press Gallery in Logan Square, Chicago.

Original works and limited edition screenprints from Next Gen are available now, check the link in my bio to view the collection. ✨️ Amazing artists, 2 amazing galleries, thank you for letting me part of it! ✨️

The second piece from my 'Inheritance' triptych.
Some of what gets left behind takes root. It shapes you, nourishes you, and illuminates your path.

Some of these deeply rooted truths quietly become the architecture of who we are. For me, the chrysanthemum carries a very specific weight and history. For you, it will mean something completely different. And that is the true gift of inheritance, as it finds a new life with everyone it touches.

'Inheritance (Abundance),' acrylic and spray paint on cradled wood panel, 16" x 20".
Debuting at Next Gen, presented by All Star Press x Thinkspace Projects .

'Inheritance' is about what gets passed down: the beauty and the wreckage, bound together, behind the same door.

The skeletons are not shameful secrets. They are everything that shaped you, marked you, and changed you before you had the language for any of it.

The boy at the door is a self-portrait. He is also my son. Both are true. I am the child who once stood at a door like this, who received beauty and wreckage in the same moment without the language for either. He is the child who will stand at his own door one day, carrying things I have already begun to pass down to him without knowing it. The distance between those two truths is where this work lives.

Inheritance, acrylic and spray paint on cradled wood panel, 18" x 24". This it's the center piece of a triptych debuting at Next Gen, presented by All Star Press x Thinkspace Projects . Opening night October 3rd, Logan Square, Chicago.

Be on the lookout tomorrow for an advanced online preview of the work. Incredible artists, incredible galleries, thank you for letting me be a part of it 🔥

what are you presenting to the world that you've outgrown on the inside?

finishing up this 2024 study; ink and marker on stained deckle edge 200 GSM paper; roughly 9" x 13"; sold.

These small, mixed media studies are my open journal to explore memory, identity, and our shared human experience. This intimate scale allows for immediacy and a personal conversation, a fluid counterpoint to my larger works. Some are seeds for future paintings; all are acts to capture and preserve fleeting thoughts.

The 464 family is getting back together. "To Keep You Warm" is headed to Ascension: 464 Gallery Reunion opening this Saturday at The Crucible Art Collective . Big thank you to Alicia Malik for spearheading this and working so hard putting together the event. Come raise a glass with all of us, and of course Marcus L Wise !

To Keep You Warm; 2026; acrylic and spray paint on cradled wood panel; 36" × 36"

We build emotional walls to keep ourselves safe, but the inner world is rarely cooperative. Eventually, what we hide refuses to stay hidden. To Keep You Warm is that refusal made visible: a figure at a door, burning from the inside out. It's a painting about the bittersweet truth of vulnerability. We will gladly burn our own boundaries to ash, just to keep the people we love from growing cold.

2 day live painting at Buffalo Waterfront finished. This piece, along with everyone else's work, will be up at Canalside through September. Anyone / any business interested in purchasing, please message me. 'Still Here', spray paint on exterior MDF panels, 8' x 8', clear coated with a dead flat finish.
'Still Here' treats the Canalside lakefront as a torn poster wall: two and a half centuries of
weather, commerce, ambition, and identity layered over each other, never fully erased.
Had a great time painting alongside Max Collins , Jackie Doyle , and AngeleeV | Arte | Puerto Rico ! Big thank you to Arts Services Inc | WNY’s Arts Service Agency , Chastity, Lauren, and everyone involved. ❤️
