In July 2025, SGAA traveled to Corning, NY to work with partners at the Rakow Research Library, cars loaded with the complete Stained Glass Quarterly archive: floppy disks, original printed articles, photographs on flash drives, film slides, and nearly every back issue of The Monthly Visitor, Ornamental Glass Bulletin, and Stained Glass Quarterly.

Unbound and ready for scanning, these publications span from 1906 to 2014, and that entire history is now being converted into digital form for public access. Check out the link below to see the digitized back issues available!

In this semiquincentennial year, Partners for Sacred Places is holding a national photo contest to highlight the important role of churches, synagogues, meetinghouses, temples, and mosques in their local communities and United States history! The theme is “250 Years of Religious Diversity.” This is an opportunity to showcase varied religious, cultural, architectural, or artistic traditions.

This residency is for emerging through mid-career flat glass artists ready to dedicate focused time to advancing their practice. Whether you work in stained glass, kiln-formed glass, mosaic, mixed-media, or experimental techniques that push flat glass in new directions, this opportunity is built for artists with a strong vision and a drive to explore new materials, processes, or ideas.

What's included:
-Free housing at PGC's artist-in-residence housing
-Up to $1,500 in glass materials from Paul Wissmach Glass Co.
-Up to $1,500 for studio and kiln use at PGC
-Up to $1,000 travel/shipping stipend
-$500 meal stipend

This year, the sale will coincide with Paden City Marble Fest. PCMF will take place in the Paden City Park Campground, along the Ohio River, less than a mile from their factory. Please note, this is not the same weekend as the Youghiogheny fall sale as in past years.

On FRIDAY: Local WV food truck Papa’s Belly will be serving up flavorful Tex-Mex and BBQ! They’ll be serving coffee and breakfast items to start, and then switch to a lunch menu later in the day.

For reference:
🔹Regular factory outlet pricing for Art Glass quarter sheets range from $10-50 each, Art Glass short sheets range from $14-80 each, and smaller cut lites are up to $4 each.
🔹Regular factory outlet pricing for COE 96 Kiln Glass quarter sheets range from $15-30 each, COE 96 Kiln Glass short sheets range from $14-90 each, and smaller cut lites range from $4-6 each.
🔹Regular factory outlet pricing for COE 96 Frit ranges from $18-19 per 1lb jar, $39-42 per 4lb jar. COE 96 Powder will not be sold during the warehouse sale.
🔹Regular factory outlet pricing for cullet is $103 for a 50lb sack.

"This window was designed to honor the memory of the fallen firefighter, John Lityma. John’s death was not a line of duty death; however, his loss was greatly felt by both the Sugar Creek Fire Department and community. John dedicated his fire career to mentoring firefighters in training, education training programs in the department, and was a valued and respected member of the community who always went out of his way to help citizens far beyond his call of duty.

This window is one of the first painted pieces to be made by the artist after taking a glass painting class with Maria Sheets during the October 2024 SGAA conference in Kansas City. Jenny Rivera received a scholarship from the SGAA to attend and has flourished with a passion for painting since."
