Sugar City

We are a volunteer-run, all-ages, community-based group. Sugar City exists to organize alternative community arts and cultural events in the buffalo area.

Our goal is to share and create art based on participatory culture and a do-it-together attitude. Events and initiatives include, but are not limited to music, films, a zine library, meeting space, local craft corner, art gallery, workshops, and workspaces. We want to break down the barriers of what is and isn't "art" because in some way everyone is an artist. Sugar City is about sharing creativit

y and energy. This organization focuses itself on the exhibition, performance, and creation of art for those who cannot obtain space from traditional sources. Do you have photos and videos from good times at Sugar City? We're looking for archival footage from Sugar City events over the years to be included in a documentary movie about our history from inception up to the closing of 1239 Niagara Street.
