Team echo would like to congratulate architect/professor Jordan Geiger, who curated the "Light Industry" installations for echo 2016, for the inclusion in ARCHITECT's Magazine feature on architecture students' participation in legacy cities. The work of University of Buffalo Fellow, Ang Li, is featured prominently in the article.

How design students in legacy cities like Detroit, Buffalo, and Cleveland are helping to revive their local communities.

It's that time when we humbly attempt to thank all who made the huge endeavor, that was echo Art Fair 2016, possible. At the risk of forgetting someone, we'll attempt to list them here: Team echo (Kristie Hornung Pottle, Laine Walnicki, and Jessica Branch), our many volunteers, our jurors, our strategic partners, our incredibly accommodating hosts (OSC Manufacturing & Equipment), Light Industry curator (Jordan Geiger), site-specific installation curator (Rachel Adams), our Sponsors, panel coordinator (Elizabeth Licata), the talented exhibitors/Light Industry/installation artists, the wonderful food/beverage vendors and, of course, the ever-supportive fair attendees (who came out in droves). Thank you, thank you...from the bottom of our hearts. This truly is a massive undertaking, and simply would not be possible without the collective you. See you at the next edition of echo.

It with great excitement that we announce the recipients of the People's Choice Awards for site-specific installation artists at echo Art Fair 2016. Over 400 echo Art Fair attendees voted on the installations throughout the weekend, and the top three installations will receive a monetary award generously provided by The John R. Oishei Foundation. In first place was Ani Hoover with "Square Weave". In second place was Team Razor Wire with "Advantageous Geometry Number 1". In third place was Virginia Melnyk with "Purple". Congratulations to our winners, and thank you to all the site-specific installation artists and Rachel Adams, Associate Curator for the University at Buffalo Art Galleries, who curated the installations, for your indelible contribution to echo Art Fair 2016. (The installations that were part of "Light Industry"--the architecture section--were not contestants for the People's Choice Awards.)
