This Friday, we’re heading into the studio in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

We sit down with Sheila Brown, owner of WUFO and Power 96.5, to talk about the importance of using our platforms to bring awareness, information, and support to our community.

We’ll also be joined by breast cancer survivors and others impacted by the journey as we share stories of strength, survival, awareness, and hope.

This week on Power to the People, we’re looking at what happens when decisions made in the name of progress, development, and government policy directly impact people’s lives.

We start in Atlanta with the BeltLine, examining how major urban redevelopment can bring investment, new businesses, housing, and opportunity while also raising concerns about gentrification, affordability, and displacement. When a neighborhood improves, who gets to stay and enjoy the benefits? And how do cities revitalize communities without pushing out the people who were already there?

Then we turn to Tennessee and the debate over capital punishment, examining the case making headlines and the larger questions surrounding the government’s power to impose the death penalty.

Two very different stories, but both raise questions about power, public policy, and who ultimately lives with the consequences of the decisions government makes.

This week on Power to the People, we’re asking some uncomfortable questions about the direction America is heading.

Is the United States becoming communist? We unpack why that word is being used in today’s political debate and whether what people are seeing actually fits the definition.

We also discuss the escalating battle between the White House and the press, after CNN, MS NOW, and Politico were barred from White House access before a federal judge temporarily ordered their credentials restored. What happens when an administration decides which journalists get access based on their coverage?

Then we return to the case of Nolan Wells. A Mississippi grand jury declined to bring criminal charges in connection with the 18-year-old’s death, finding no credible evidence of criminal wrongdoing. His family, however, says important questions remain unanswered and is seeking further investigation.

Finally, with artificial intelligence changing how we learn and work, we ask a question facing a lot of families: Is college still worth it? If AI can perform tasks that once required years of education and specialized training, what will a college degree be worth in the next generation?

From government and media to justice, education, and AI, America is changing. The question is whether our institutions are changing with it.

Imagine following someone online for household tips, watching their videos, trusting their advice, and then finding out the person doesn’t even exist.

That’s exactly what happened.

AI-generated influencers are gaining followers, AI artists are making music, and technology can now create a digital version of you that looks and sounds like you.

The information might be real. The advice might even be good. But does it matter if the person delivering it isn’t?

And just so we’re clear… we are NOT AI. 😂

This week on Power to the People, we start with the new home of the Buffalo Bills. Now that fans have had a chance to experience the new Highmark Stadium, what do we think? We share our opinions on the look and feel of the stadium, the atmosphere, amenities, and the overall game-day experience.

Then we turn to artificial intelligence and content creation. As AI-generated content becomes more sophisticated, what happens when AI begins learning from and building upon content that was itself created by AI? And what does that mean for human creators, originality, and the future of creativity?

Finally, Buffalo Common Council Majority Leader Leah Halton-Pope joins us to discuss the city’s Charter Revision items headed to voters this November. We break down what’s being proposed, why these changes are on the ballot, and what Buffalo residents should know before casting their votes.

From the future of the Bills to the future of creativity and the future of Buffalo government, we’re looking at a city and a world in the middle of change.

Then we turn our attention to men’s health, with a special focus on prostate cancer and the importance of prevention, early detection, and getting men to take their health seriously. We’re joined by experts from Roswell Park to discuss what men need to know, when conversations about screening should begin, and why prostate cancer awareness is especially important in the Black community.

We remember those we lost while having a conversation that could help save lives today.

25 years later, we still remember. 🇺🇸

September 11, 2001 is a day that changed America forever. In this moment, we reflect on where we were, what we remember, and the lives that were forever changed that morning.

We offer our deepest condolences to the families who lost loved ones and our continued gratitude to the first responders who ran toward danger when others were running away, including those who have carried the physical and emotional impact of that day for the past 25 years.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.
