A dream, finally realised.

For as long as I’ve been serious about photography, there’s been one name that has always felt a little bit different to me - Hasselblad.

Not simply another camera, but something with an extraordinary photographic legacy. Cameras that documented some of the most important moments of the 20th century.

I’ve wanted one for years.

Yesterday, that dream finally became reality.

There’s something genuinely magical about picking up a Hasselblad. The simplicity, the engineering, the sound of the shutter, the colours - even the deliberate way it makes you approach taking a photograph. It feels less like another piece of technology and more like a photographic instrument.

And this particular one is going to see some adventures. Landscapes, cities, storms, forgotten places and wherever else the camera takes me next.

Photography has given me some incredible experiences over the years, but there’s something rather special about finally owning the camera I once looked at and thought “maybe one day.”

Well... one day arrived.

Found inside Frank Gehry’s extraordinary DZ BANK building in Berlin - a simple coat rack that stopped me in my tracks.

The repetition, symmetry and almost complete absence of colour turned something entirely functional into something strangely beautiful. Sometimes the best photographs are hiding, waiting to be discovered.

And what better day to share it than World Photography Day. 📷

Who knew medium format could do action photography? 📸🏍️

I don’t normally point my camera at superbikes, but I had a brilliant day at Thruxton yesterday photographing the British Superbike Championship Friday practice sessions.

A great opportunity to try something completely different with the Fujifilm GFX100 II - slower shutter speeds, panning and 102 megapixels chasing motorcycles at rather ridiculous speeds!

The plan was simple - set up the cameras, take our time, enjoy the silence and photograph the Milky Way over these old grain elevators.

Reality had other ideas.

Within minutes, what felt like a million mosquitoes descended on us. The usual careful workflow went straight out of the window as we became an all-you-can-eat buffet. What was supposed to be a relaxed night shoot quickly turned into “get the shot and get back in the cars... pretty damn quick!”

Despite the chaos (and the bites), standing under a sky like this reminds you just how small we are. Some photographs are worth scratching for.

No architecture and no dramatic storm skies this weekend, but I had an absolute blast photographing for nanuskate at the UK Surf & Skate Expo in Newquay.

It was great to capture the energy, the talent and the atmosphere, while helping an exciting new brand create content at such a brilliant event. It’s always refreshing to step outside your usual genre, and spending the weekend surrounded by such a passionate community made it even more enjoyable.

A huge thanks to everyone at Nanuskate for having me along. I’m looking forward to watching the brand grow and seeing what comes next.
