The National Weather Service has issued a WINTER STORM WATCH for Eastern North Carolina, including Kinston and surrounding communities, due to the increasing potential for a significant winter storm.

Late Friday Night through Sunday Afternoon
January 31 – February 1

• Total snow accumulations of 8 to 12 inches
• Strong winds with gusts up to 40–50 mph
