Hey friends —

Buffalo Arts Weekend is on Aug 29 (2–9 PM), and I wanted to share a bit about the event. It’s on Elmwood between Bird & Potomac streets. It’s an artist-ally block party the community created to benefit Buffalo Public Schools’ arts programs. I’m so fortunate to work with an incredible group of artists, businesses, and partners on this project. None of this would be possible without you. Stay tuned to see what’s coming!

The Parables Gallery sits right in the middle of the action: we’ll have artist pop-ups, Joe George & Chris McGee, live music, and sales in the Gallery Gift Shop.

Buffalo Arts Weekend is on Aug 29 (2–9 PM), and I wanted to share a bit about the event. It’s an artist-ally block party the community created to benefit Buffalo Public Schools’ arts programs. I’m pleased to present “Landscapes” at Parables Gallery & Gifts — a group show running August 1–28 featuring work by Tony Nash, Chris McGee, Sharissa Terrel, and Art By The Willow Tree. We had a great turnout at the opening, and the walls are filled with a nice variety of approaches to landscape.

Hey Friends - Just wanted to remind you about the front room of my mixed-use house, The Gallery Shop Room, featuring some of Buffalo's best local artists, photographers, and craftsmen, offering an array of art-inspired clothing, home décor, photography prints, and functional art . As you can guess, a favorite project of mine is bringing art into everyday settings via art-printed T-shirts. They are a great way to promote cultural visual aesthetics and connection, making it easier to have random conversations with people you don’t even know!

We are always looking for artists and craftsmen...I'm looking forward to working with you. Your only cost is a 30% commission on the sold piece. It's my way of supporting local artists.

Hey Friends - Just letting you know that the theme in the Gallery Room for July is “Texture,” a group exhibit from July 3 -31. The use of heavy textures for me is a main part of my visual language, because texture tends to draw you in to explore more, observing all of the details of the surface's: rough, smooth, worn, broken, and color on top of color, and more,, In my Gallery space, people keep asking if they can touch it, my response is sure, you are not going to hurt it ,expecially what I put a painting trough, at that this point they are focused and interactions begin to happen.

I think this is an especially important element that is being overlooked, because folks just walk around with their heads down, scrolling on their phones, not being present in the wonderful world full of texture that is all around.

So, this is an invitation to stop by and see what other local artists and photographers are sharing with us.

We had to change the reception night to July 17, still at 6:30 - 7:30
