Hey-ey-ey-ey! Wegmans on McKinley Rd. rolled out the red carpet this week to welcome nationwide managers to their store in true Buffalo fashion, and I’m excited to share the small part I could play in helping their vision come to life.

This month is SWAMPED with projects, workshops, lessons, commissions, murals, and keeping the kids busy for these last few weeks before school. If you’re looking for some artsy activities, I’ve got a couple coming up for you to check out:

- Thursday 8/13 I’ll be chalking at the Erie County Fair in Hamburg, NY from 11-4. Looking forward to this one! Stop by and say hi.

- Monday 8/17 I’ll be joining Marina Goody at Goody Girl Flower Farm in Lockport, NY for a night of picking beautiful flowers from her flower fields and watercolor painting (and wine!). Always a fun night! 21+ event and space is limited (linked below)

“So what happens when it rains?” - it’s one of the most asked questions I hear. A chalk artist’s work is temporary. We know it will get step on, biked on, rained on - and we HOPE those things don’t happen until well after we’ve completed our work. But every now and then, things happen that are outside of our control. This year, I experienced my first total wash out at the Lockport Chalk Walk. Take a look at how we navigated this very rainy chalk day. ❤️

A few highlights from my weekend chalking in Somerset:
- Friday night’s car show and sunset sky
- seeing other artists hard at work and admiring their skills. I learn from them EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
- sponsorships and supports from local businesses, making it possible for me to be there and stay fueled up
- getting to interact with the art

Had the best time chalking Fraggles (and a cute Doozer) down in Somerset, PA at Uptown Chalk the Block. The “yesteryear” theme is definitely a favorite. Thanks so much Uptown Chalk the Block and Uptown Somerset for having me!

Just floatin’ through the weekend! I spent the day today chalking at Canalfest in my hometown, North Tonawanda, NY. The weather was outstanding! So grateful for blue skies (no smoky haze), comfortable summer temps and no rain!
The theme for the day was “Where the River Meets Your Imagination”. I imagined that when you crack a hole in the pavement, you’ll see more of the Niagara River, and maybe a cute frog will be floating by enjoying National Ice Cream day. 🐸 🍦
Really, my biggest goal today was to try my first 3D piece. I’ve wanted to tackle it for a while. There’s definitely parts I’d do differently but I’m happy with how this cute little dude turned out. I’m also grateful to bring home 1st place with this one!
Thank you to the organizers of Canal Fest of the Tonawandas, Inc.! You guys are working so hard to make this festival run smoothly on a tight timeframe and in a new place. I appreciate all that you’re doing to make this another great event. Thanks for having me back!
