Meet the Cast!

Michael Kirby (Black Marketeer/Drunk #1/Ensemble) "Kirby" is excited to be returning to Big Deal Productions where he last played MacMillan in Big The Musical. Other past productions include Shrek (Ensemble), The Boy Who Cried Dragon (Dragon), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Choir), Les Misérables (Ensemble), The Addams Family (Uncle Fester), Seussical (Horton), Schoolhouse Rock Live! (Joe), and Oklahoma! (Jud). Kirby works as the Music Teacher at Park Jr. High. There he teaches music electives: Soundtrack Studios, Musical Theatre, and Beginning Guitar and Ukulele. He also directs, music directs, and assistant choreographs the school musical. This past year he directed a full length production of the show Mean Girls. He is incredibly proud of his students. In his free time, Kirby enjoys going to the movies, playing video games, practicing his music skills, doing jigsaw puzzles, and hanging out with friends. Kirby would like to thank his friends and family for their constant support.

Kirby says, "I am most excited for audiences to see such a large cast. With everyone's incredible talent, the audience is in for a grand spectacle. "

Meet the Cast!

Olivia Soble (Ensemble) is thrilled to be returning to the stage with Big Deal Productions! Anastasia marks her 11th production with the company. Some of her favorite past roles include Frenchy in Grease, the Narrator in Puffs, Deb in Elf Jr., and Smee in Peter Pan Jr. Olivia recently graduated from Illinois State University with a B.A. in English Secondary Education and a minor in Theatre. She would like to thank Lindsay, Deb, and the entire Big Deal Productions team for their guidance and support. She is also incredibly grateful to her mom, dad, and brother Logan for their endless love and encouragement, as well as her wonderful friends, who she can always depend on—they know who they are! Olivia dedicates this performance to her late Gaga, Renee, who loved watching her perform.

Olivia says, "This show is incredibly special. From the music to the acting to the dancing, this whole cast has done a fabulous job at caring for the product we are creating. I am so excited to share this special show with an audience!!"

Meet the Cast!

Hannah Egel (Maria Romanov/Ensemble) Fresh off her dazzling run as the jazz-hot Mona in Chicago, Hannah is thrilled to trade her flapper fringe for the imperial gown of the Grand Duchess Maria Romanov. Now a Senior at Stevenson High School, she is enchanted to step into the elegant world of St. Petersburg for Anastasia! This milestone marks her monumental 10th performance with Big Deal Productions! In seasons past, she has graced the stage in Chicago, Beetlejuice, Big, Grease, Mean Girls, Moana, Matilda, Joseph, and Something Rotten! When she isn’t on stage singing and dancing, Hannah loves participating in choir, hanging out with friends and family, and playing with her royal dog, Oliver. She sends her deepest gratitude to her family, castmates, creative directors, and the tireless crew who make this magic come to life. Enjoy this breathtaking journey into the past!

Hannah says, "Every year I do a summer musical, it gets more and more incredible! I know the audience will feel the amount of magic, personality, and passion we exhibit on stage. "

AJ Block (Ensemble) is thrilled to be a part of this production of Anastasia, which will be his 9th show at Big Deal Productions. AJ will be a junior at Vernon Hills High School and enjoys participating in the theater program there. He would like to thank his family for all of their endless support, as well as his castmates and the production team for making this experience so special. He hopes you enjoy the show!

Meet the Cast!

Jenny Rose Stash (Countess Lily) is thrilled to be back on the Buffalo Grove stage, where she last played Hattie in Kiss Me, Kate (20 years ago)! During the school year, you’ll find Mrs. Stash teaching music and directing the choirs at Cooper Middle School. Jenny has a Masters in Music Education with minors in Vocal Performance and Conducting from VanderCook College of Music and a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Illinois, where she met her hubbie, Aaron, whom she’s playing opposite for the first time on stage. She’s excited to be a part of this amazing cast and incredible show!

Jenny says, "“I’m loving being back on stage with Big Deal, especially getting to flirt and dance with my husband, Aaron! Usually behind the scenes as a music director, I’m having so much fun performing as the Diva, Lily. I can’t wait for everyone to see this beautiful show!”

Meet the Cast!

Molly Jacobson (Ballet Corps/Ensemble) is so excited to be on the Anastasia journey this summer! Molly loves being part of Big Deal's summer shows, including Big (Amanda) and Something Rotten (Portia). When she's not onstage, Molly loves to work behind the scenes, choreographing for Big Deal's children's shows or teaching dance at Studio 83. Huge thank yous to Deb, Dede, Lindsay, Maggie, and Maddy for their expertise and all of the fun we've had. Biggest thank you to Cathy, for just being the best in the whole world. Enjoy the show!

Meet the Cast!

Leah Volpert (Teen Anastasia/Ballet Corps/Ensemble) is thrilled to be part of Anastasia! She is an incoming 8th grader at Twin Groves Middle School. Apart from theatre, she enjoys math, hip hop, and spending time with family and friends. She has been taking dance classes for ten years! She's also been taking voice classes for 4 years. Leah has participated in various shows since 2022, including: Once Upon a Mattress (Ensemble), Aristocats Kids (Alley Cat), W***y Wonka Kids (Charlie Bucket), The Music Man (Pick-A-Little Lady), Seussical Jr (Jojo The Who) x2, Frozen Jr (Featured Dancer and Dance Captain), Annie Kids (Dance Captain and Ensemble), Shrek Jr (Teen Fiona and Wicked Witch), Beetlejuice Jr (Cheerleader and Dance Captain), Chicago: Teen Edition (Featured Dancer), The Addams Family (Grandma). She is currently in Dear Edwina playing Edwina Spoonapple! Leah would like to thank her fabulous cast, crew, and team for this phenomenal experience. Enjoy Anastasia!

Leah says, "I’m excited to see this production piece together with the help of the staff, crew, and cast! Every rehearsal is a great experience, thanks to all the help I receive to develop my talents and learn new skills!"
