Meet the Cast!

Julia Helmer (Ensemble) is grateful to be included in bringing this beautiful story to life! Julia has previously performed in Deerfield Theater's Murder on the Orient Express (Greta Ohlsson), Big Deal Productions' Big the Musical, The Matchmaker (Irene Molloy), Something Rotten!, Footloose the Musical, Necessary Targets (Jelena) and Brighton Beach Memoirs (Blanche Morton). When not performing, Julia enjoys curling and white water rafting, as well as cooking and crafting. Julia thanks her incredibly supportive husband and family and hopes the audience has a wonderful ride on this Journey to the Past.

Julia says, "The Ensemble has a LOT to do in this show, so it's been a good challenge to learn all the music. It's also fun to play multiple characters and make up your own background depending on the scene you're in."

Meet the Staff!

Stephanie Nece (Costume Designer) is honored to return to Big Deal Productions for Anastasia the Musical. She has a B.F.A. in Musical Theater and Dance performance from Viterbo University. Stephanie has been performing, directing, designing, and choreographing for Big Deal since 2009. Congratulations to the cast, crew, and staff on a fantastic production, and thanks to her husband David, and children Joseph, Vincent, and Sarah for their love and support.

Stephanie says, "I love the way the costumes help tell this story through color, texture, and movement. Audiences are sure to be transported to another time and place and feel fully immersed in Anya's journey."

Meet the Cast!

Matanel Roitman (Count Ipolitov/The Tsar) is excited to return to the Big Deal stage this summer! He received his BFA in Acting from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Previous theatre credits include Shrek in Shrek the Musical! (Deerfield Theatre), Chuck Cranston in Footloose (Big Noise), Gaston in Beauty and the Beast (DFT), Jean-Michel in Cinderella (Big Deal), Duke Senior / Duke Frederick in As You Like It (Forest Park), and Chebutykin in Three Sisters (UIC). A huge thank you to the Anastasia creative team, the cast and crew, family, and friends for their creativity, love, and support!

Mat says, "This show is not one to miss! I can’t wait for the audience to hear these songs and to see these fun and moving performances! "
