Did you know alpacas actually enjoy being gently hosed down on warm days?

Unlike many animals, alpacas can be sensitive to heat because of their incredibly dense fleece. A cool rinse helps them regulate their body temperature, keeping them comfortable and content throughout the summer months.

It’s one of the many simple, behind-the-scenes moments of ranch life that guests love experiencing firsthand.

Come meet our alpacas, learn about their unique personalities and care, and discover the everyday rhythms of life at Zaca Creek Ranch.

Book your ranch tour today and experience the beauty of the Santa Ynez Valley, one unforgettable encounter at a time.
