As part of the Hays County Arts Alliance, Buda Plein Air Paint Out is open to all artists interested in plein air painting. Our intent is to promote outdoor painting and to encourage artists of all experience level, including beginners, to participate in a fun, welcoming, and community-building environment.
The event runs from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, though artists are welcome to arrive late or leave early. The goal is to create a relaxed day of painting, connection, and creative exchange with fellow artists from across Hays County.
The 2026 theme is “Water.” Artists are encouraged to paint along Onion Creek, a treasured natural feature and one of Buda’s most beautiful landscapes. Artists may paint anywhere within Garison Park.
Artists must bring their own art supplies and surfaces on which to create artwork.
