I’m enjoying changing things up and painting some rocks! Some I hide in my neighborhood or surrounding areas, others I keep because I’m not always good at letting go. Either way, it’s so fun to abandon painted rocks for others to find and cherish! You never know if it’s just what someone needs. 😊

Progress on this Corvette painting for my father-in-law! I’ve redone a bunch of it, and I’ve learned a lot. Painting realistic things is not easy. And this is far from perfect. But I’m working hard this year to try and paint more and to finish one painting a month at least. This one is nearly done!

I’ve always created things.

Art. Short stories. Drawings. Clay sculptures. Photos. Scrapbooks. The list is endless.

I’ve always been a creative person, painting being the most pronounced of my memory. It started even further back than art class in high school in Mr. Bergstrom’s. Publishing my work in Writing for Publications in Mrs. Kreiger’s, proud when my photography became the cover of our school magazine. Further back still, when I was taking English class in Mr. Slocum’s and decorating my plain old journal with everything I could find. That was 8th grade. I can still remember beyond that, fond memories of art and joy intermixed. Art for me always has been something that gives me a warmth in my chest. Right where my heart is. I love expressing myself, pouring emotion into something for someone else to receive. I always did believe that the best gifts to give were the handmade ones. And inside I’ve always hoped that maybe I’d be able to create things that people might buy and hang or display in their homes. Something that made their home, feel even more like a home, because of my addition.

That brings me here. And well, you here, so to speak. Creating and selling paintings is something I truly enjoy doing. It fills me with such pride and true joy to make something special for someone, or something that just resonates with someone’s soul. By supporting my business, you are helping me to grow as a person day by day. Whether it’s buying a piece, requesting something custom, or just spreading the word - you do make a difference for someone like me.

Besides painting, I absolutely love: reading fantasy and adventure books, a huge variety of video games, photography (yes, I do local photoshoots!), writing, shooting my compound bow, hunting with my 2 kids and husband, volunteering at my kids’ school, running and working out, and more than anything, exploring nature. That is where I get all of my inspiration from. And I am so fortunate that my husband Shane and kids Ellie and Hayden love doing that, too. We really are an all outdoorsy family.
