I know you've heard me say it one thousand times but sometimes right back where you started from is exactly where you're supposed to be...

Happy Wednesday lovelies!! Well, it looks like we've reached the end of this particular path here at the Cottage and I am so very grateful.
I previously mentioned that not long after we bought the Cottage we knew in our hearts this tiny remote location wasnt going to be ideal. So, for months Gary and I have been immersed in searching for a new place for the Cottage to live. Then we looked up one day and realized we had lost another Summer trying to figure out how to make this whole thing work.
I literally woke up one day and remembered that it's not supposed to be this hard.
Nope. Not even close.
Hard work? Yes.
Patience and persistence? Yes.
But constant pushing and twisting and turning? No.

I almost had to laugh when I realized that we bought and brought two truckloads of vintage craft supplies all the way from Missouri to Michigan. We bought craft supplies, paper, stamps, beads and jewelry maker estates. I even managed to purchase a gorgeous silk flower business... All of it with the intention to create a crafty and hobby destination like no other.
Unfortunately the reality did not match the dream and if you've been here, you already know that due to massive space restraints, 90% of those supplies are still in their boxes.
Insane, but true.
The dream may not have worked here in this magical little Cottage but that doesnt mean its over.
Perhaps its becoming something a bit different now.
To be honest, I'm not entirely sure and yes, that's more than a little uncomfortable for a perfectionist, creative, over-achieving, over-planner like me, but I also know that sometimes you just need to take the pause.
This journey and second life of all this treasure can wait a bit longer.
The new path is out there.
But for now, its time to just be still, listen and wait for whatever reveals itself next.
I have faith in magic and possibility.
Always.

In the meantime, Sept. 2-3 are the last shopping days here at the Cottage. I'll be open from 11-3 both days.
Ooh.. and the AC is brand spanking new so it will be nice and cool as you fill your arms with essential crafty treasure.

I finally reached a decision about the Cottage and I feel very excited about my future for the first time in a long time.
We knew when we bought this adorable Cottage that trying to cram 900 lbs into a 5 lb space wasn't going to work but oy, we kept trying. We added buildings, stacked boxes floor to ceiling; tried everything. Between a lack of traffic and serious deficit of space, the last two years has not been easy.
I purchased the mountains of crafty supplies because I love the items and what creativity has to offer; that hasn't changed. But trying to be productive and successful in the wrong location is exhausting. For the last few months we've visited a crazy amount of buildings and spaces trying to find the perfect location for all this treasure to live but so far nothing has made enough sense to make the leap. 
For now, I'm going to pack it all up and bring as much inventory home to Union Pier as possible. The rest will go into storage until we figure out what the next chapter of this story looks like.
I thought I was going to be super sad to release this magical Cottage but as we've been exploring our options I realized that this experience hastruly been a source of immense clarity for me.
Beyond the crafty part of this journey, I got to build the Medicine Wheel by the Creek that has lived in my heart for 4 years! I created something that I knew had to exist even if it was just for me. I'm proud of that knowing.
I also know that I've missed having time for my own creativity. I forget that I'm a writer and mixed media artist who hasn't had a spare moment to complete projects that have been waiting far too long for my attention. Its time.
THURSDAY SEPT. 3RD will be the LAST DAY for walk-in shopping.
This will not be the end of the story; its more like a semicolon as I take a breath, pause and see what shows up next.
I cannot thank you enough for your support and patience as I have flipped around these last several months trying to sort this out. Its been a chaotic season of my life for sure but I wouldnt change a thing. Even as one part of the story is ending, I truly know in my gut that the best is yet to come!

I've created magical, mystery 12 X 12 scrapbook paper pre-packs. Each pre-pack contains 25 sheets...all different patterns, no repeats and no solids. No two Mystery packs will be the same.

To all of my paper-obsessed sisters who have gently asked if I would ever consider organizing all the scrapbook paper...this is for you!!!
I am officially camped out on the floor of the shop separating my first of about 100 piles of cardstock, regular weight and even two-sided 12x12 paper... I won't promise that it will get any further than this but can I at least get an A for effort? Ooh...and speaking of the letter A....can we talk about how adorable that Artichoke paper is? So far I've only found two sheets but I am obsessed!
