Wow! I just wanted to say thank you to Meadows of Anne Vacation rentals for asking me to make a video of my harebrained Appalachian musical instrument creations for their followers. I filmed this in my bus on my way to my last radio performance. In a short time, the video has received over 30,000 plays and over 1,200 “likes” and hundreds of comments. This makes it now my most played music video I’ve ever made. The most views I’ve gotten other than this was a little over 20,000 on a song I wrote for Kate called “A Country Mile”. But who’s counting? Just kidding, I am! But also careful not to base my own self worth on such things. And I couldn’t care any less about promoting myself or being famous. I see it as promoting the joy of traditionally created music, not myself. That being said, I keep ribbing my kids and wife by jokingly telling them “look, I’m gonna need a lot more respect from y’all because I I’m now a famous mountain dulcimer maker and musician on the internet”. Hahaha I think they’re getting tired of it, but still laughing when I say it, with an eye roll. The interest in my homemade instruments has inspired me to start a new build with ebony and ivory wood as the soundboard. It should turn out beautiful and I’ll share it once I get it done. Thank you to everyone who watched, liked and commented on the video. It’s a reminder to keep playing and keep making music, no matter what. As long as God makes me able. Thank you
