Not everything that died in a Paper Doll Ensemble show was cut from the script.

RIP to beloved pet chicken, Albert, from *Pecking Order*, who was, in fact, murdered by Marcia and absolutely DID make it into the final show. 🐔

As we prepare to resurrect nine years of material that *didn’t* survive the cutting room floor, we’re revisiting some of our favorite evidence from Paper Doll history.

*Murdered Darlings* brings the actual casualties back to life for one night only.

For nine years, Paper Doll Ensemble has left a trail of deleted scenes, abandoned characters, cut monologues, weird experiments and beloved ideas that just didn’t survive.

On September 26, we’re digging them back up.

*Murdered Darlings* is a one-night-only resurrection of the material we loved enough to create…and eventually had to kill.

Some should probably have stayed buried. Too late now. 🪦

THE DARLING REVEALED 🪦

Unfortunately, Colon: Suppository is completely real.

Born during the devising of Iris’ “I’m Okay” Tea Party in 2024, the scene came from our exploration of the Colon and the many deeply glamorous realities of chronic illness.

As the show evolved, we focused more on the disease itself than every individual treatment, and theatrically streamlined those treatments into pills.

Because, as it turns out, suppositories onstage are maybe not the hill to die on.

THE DARLING REVEALED 🪦

If you guessed Now That’s What I Call Satan, congratulations. Yes, that is a real thing we made.

But this darling wasn’t exactly murdered. She simply... disappeared.

Created as digital content for WASP’s Nest in 2021, Now That’s What I Call Satan was a very real infomercial for a very fake compilation album of your favorite Satanic hits.

It lived briefly on the internet, never made it in front of a live audience, and eventually disappeared into the dark recesses of the Paper Doll archives.

Five years later, we’re summoning it back.
