Shakes on the Lake

Hello friends, and fellow Shakespeare lovers.

It brings us no pleasure to announce that we have made the decision to cancel this year’s Shakes on the Lake production of “Romeo and Juliet”. After consulting with healthcare professionals, we simply cannot justify asking our actors to continue risking their health by rehearsing in these abnormally high temperatures. The temperatures are only going to continue at this current level through August, and we can’t ask our audience members to brave the heat to come and watch an outdoor summer performance this year either.

We are heartbroken, but we know this is the safest decision for all involved. If you have donated to our GoFundMe, you will be receiving a refund shortly.

We don’t plan on going anywhere, and hope that you will continue to support our efforts to give storytellers an outlet for their passion. We have some very exciting (and climate controlled!) things up our sleeves for the next few months.

Thank you all for the support you’ve shown our small theatre group. We’ll be back!

Hello friends! As you know, Shakes on the Lake is a free performance so we rely solely on donations to produce our shows. As we enter our third year, we are so grateful to have a tiny nest egg to start with but we still need your help to really make this years production of Romeo and Juliet shine!
