Good morning friends.

Life gets busy. Days run together. We get comfortable and sometimes forget to pay attention to what God is putting right in front of us.

I’m asking Him to show me where I’ve gotten too comfortable, too slow to love, or too slow to obey.

I just want to be more aware of Him today and not miss what He’s trying to show me.

“Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.”

Sorry I can’t always show you the good side, it just wouldn’t be real.
But just being me sure does feel better.

Lord,
Sometimes I let those old insecurities have a way of creeping back up through the pipes. But I’m learning to stand firm, trust you and keep pushing through. The hard seasons don’t define me. They strengthen me. And I firmly believe believe that you have my back. Amen.

Good mornin’. Big yawn…

Happy Friday.

Work to get the paycheck.
Kids taken care of in every way possible.
Spouse.
Bible study and church.
Food.
House chores.
And on and on…

The daily-life checklist.

We spend so much of our time taking care of what’s inside our own little box.

And there’s nothing wrong with that. We have responsibilities, people we love, and things that need to be done.

But my heart has been telling me something lately…

Life can become so much more fulfilling when, as Christians, we unlock the door to our own little box and start looking beyond ourselves.

Not as slaves.

As servants.

There’s a BIG difference.

Jesus didn’t call us to simply go through our daily routines. He called us to serve, love, encourage, and make disciples.

Sometimes that may look like something big.

But sometimes it’s as simple as opening a door for someone, checking on a friend, visiting someone in the hospital, helping a stranger, or noticing someone who could use a little kindness.

Matthew 20:28 says:

“…the Son of man came not to be served, but to serve…”

That changes the way I look at my day.

Maybe the question isn’t always, “What else do I need to get done?”

Maybe it’s, “Who can I serve today?”

Because when we finally unlock the door, look up, and start seeing the people God has placed around us…

That’s when life gets really interesting.

Take care of your box.

But don’t forget to open the door.

Someone outside of it may need you. I know I do..
