✨ A TRUE VINTAGE DESIGNER FIND — BERNARD PERRIS PARIS ✨

This one deserved a little research because I knew it was something special. šŸ–¤

This gorgeous vintage special-occasion dress is Bernard Perris Paris for Creeds Toronto.

Bernard Perris was a French designer who opened his own Paris fashion house in 1969 after working with some pretty impressive names in French fashion, including Guy Laroche, Jacques Heim and Dior. He became known for luxurious fabrics, beautiful construction and dramatic statement pieces — especially his cocktail and evening wear.

And the vintage market definitely reflects it. šŸ‘€

Comparable Bernard Perris pieces can be listed for hundreds of dollars, with current vintage designer listings reaching well above $800 depending on the piece, era and condition. Based on comparable pieces I found, I would estimate the vintage resale value of this dress in the $300–$800+ range.

And because you know me… finding something like this is exactly why I love thrifting. šŸ˜‚

This page may be about thrifting… but the real story starts with these three.

Oso, Crema, and Bandit.

They didn’t just change my life—they helped me find it again. ā¤ļø

šŸ’– Oops, I Thrifted Again… but this time, I inherited it. šŸ’–

Salt & Pepper Shaker Sunday šŸ«™šŸ«™

Some of my favorite treasures didn’t come from a thrift store. They came from my Mamaw.

When she passed away at 96 years old, I inherited about one-third of her incredible salt and pepper shaker collection. Every little set reminds me of a woman who was as strong as she was kind.

My Mamaw was the jailer in Carlisle, Kentucky, and her house was unlike anything you’ve ever seen. The holding jail was on the main floor, with the women’s cells upstairs.

And here’s my favorite part…

She cooked for the inmates whatever she was making for herself. If it was pinto beans, cornbread, and chow chow, that’s what everyone ate. I honestly think half the town’s ā€œjaywalkingā€ might have been on purpose just to get some of her home-cooked meals behind bars! šŸ˜‚ā¤ļø

Looking back, I think growing up around that incredible old house—filled with history, oddities, collections, and stories—is exactly what sparked my love for Grandmacore, vintage decorating, and finding beauty in things with a past. (Pictures of her house for referencešŸ’–)

Every thrifted treasure reminds me that the best collections aren’t just made of things… they’re made of memories.

✨ Did someone in your family have a collection you’ll never part with? I’d love to hear about it.

šŸ’š Furniture Flip Friday! šŸ’š

This dresser was my mom’s. ā¤ļø She found it at an antique store years ago, and when it became mine, I loved it… it just didn’t fit the vibe I was going for.

So I decided to give it a new look with this "collard" green. šŸ’š

I’ll admit, there was definitely a ā€œI hate this color… what have I gotten myself into?ā€ stage. šŸ˜‚ Thankfully, I trusted the process, and now I’m really loving how it turned out!

One thing that’s definitely staying? Are the little glass k***s. ✨ I absolutely love them.

Now I need your help…

If you look at the before picture, all of the carved details were painted in contrasting colors, and it gave the dresser so much personality. Now that it’s all one color, I’m wondering if it needs a little something.

šŸ¤” What would YOU do?
ļ潚Ÿ’š Leave it all collard green?ļ潚ŸŽØ Paint the carved details a contrasting color? If so… what color?ļ潚Ÿ–Œļø Dry brush them?✨ Add a glaze or dark wax?🌿 Or leave it exactly as it is?

This may be the ā€œafterā€ picture… but I want to have one more after pic, because I think she’s missing a little something. Let’s see where this makeover ends up! šŸ˜‰
