Brownsville Cultural Educational Group (BCEG) celebrated it's first art walk “Noche de Arte Downtown Brownsville" on Friday September 15, 2017 from 6:00pm - 9:00pm at fourteen locations; galleries, studios and venues. BCEG is a fine arts initiative of artists, educators, galleries, studios, and restaurants dedicated to enriching the South Texas community with cultural and educational expressions s

uch as “Noche de Arte Downtown Brownsville." Each location will showcase artwork by different artists, styles, genres and disciplines such as drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, sculpture, digital, performance art, music, poetry, fashion and much more. Noche de Arte is a free event open to general public.

Congratulations to our BISD high school artists that qualified for State in the Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE). The event took place this past Saturday at San Marcos High School The students presented their artwork for the judges and five received “Gold” medals. Pictured are Evelyn Valdez, Estefania Torres, Sara Arce, Iliany Cevallos, Anika Bouchot and Taryn Merta.
