LAST SUMMER:
We are performed an ORIGINAL script by our very own Maggie Admire! Because we believe in giving Chimerians a hand in the creative process, it was based off their suggestions from the previous summer. HOW WE TEACH:
Because onstage and backstage are equally important, we dedicate half the week to each. Every participant will have an onstage speaking role AND will specialize in le
arning a skill backstage! Onstage Days: For the first hour, participants attend a workshop taught by a CCT leader or an expert guest teacher, after which they apply those skills in rehearsal. To keep things fresh, we do our best to offer two workshops at a time and let the participants choose which one they attend. Backstage Days: Each participant will choose an area in which he or she will specialize. Backstage days are all hands-on workshops, where they will work with mentors to design and build the show themselves.
2014 DATES: June 3-13
BECOME A CHIMERIAN:
What does it take to be a Chimerian? (Other than creativity, passion, fun, and a healthy dose of shenanigans, of course.) AGE: 8-18 (grades 3-12)
PRICE:
We want to keep the camp as cheap as possible; the bigger we get, the more possible that is. For now, we charge $100 tuition for all of our fantabulous workshops (which is much more affordable than most other youth theatre programs) and a $70 material fee that covers a t-shirt, costumes, props, and set pieces. We want to give back, so we try to let the kids take as much as they can home at the end of the camp. MAKEUP KITS: For an additional $20, we will provide you with a personal Ben Nye makeup kit. It will last you for the camp and beyond and, while completely optional, is highly recommended. SIBLINGS: Any families signing up more than one participant get a $10 discount per participant! If a NEW participant lists you as the one who brought them into the program, you get $10 off your tuition! You can get as much as $100 off, leaving you with just the material fee. Feel free to ask us! SIGN UP: Registration is required so that we can plan accordingly! Registration link is coming soon. In case you're wondering who is behind all of this, CCT is run by a small board of directors (read: six people who love theatre and teaching enough to embark upon a project as crazy and chimerical as this). We also LOVE our volunteers and interns! Let us know if you're interested in any of the above! The board members share producing and directing responsibilities. Beyond that...
