Iluminar Aerial, based in Broomfield, is a professional aerial dance and circus arts company specializing in performance and education under the direction of Emmy and Travis Moon. Iluminar strives to move aerial dance into a respected and recognized dance genre by combining technical dance into the vertical space. Created in the summer of 2011, Iluminar provides an artistic outlet and community for artists to feed their passion in the art of aerial dance and circus arts.

What a way to close out the season! ✨

Over the past three weeks, our youth companies took the stage with three completely unique productions created through imagination, collaboration, and a whole lot of hard work.

🔥 Campfire Stories performed by TOO Company

From whimsical adventures and classic fairytales to spooky urban legends, our performers spent hours creating, rehearsing, and bringing these stories to life. These end-of-season productions are a special opportunity for our dancers to explore storytelling, character development, choreography, and theatrical performance while building confidence both on the ground and in the air.

♟️🫖 And just like that… we’ve tumbled down the rabbit hole for the very last time.

What a wildly beautiful journey this production has been for the last seasons — from spinning teacups and chaotic tea parties to glowing Cheshire grins, aerial chess battles, and stepping Through the Looking Glass.

We are so proud of every dancer, choreographer, parent, crew member, and volunteer who helped bring this whimsical world to life. The amount of creativity, courage, problem solving, glitter, paint, flying props, and organized chaos that went into this show was truly something magical. 💫

Now excuse us while we recover from moving giant teacups, hundreds of chairs, and approximately 47 pounds of blacklight paint. 🎩🐇✨

That’s a wrap on ✨Pinocchio✨

What an incredible few months this production has been for our dancers, flyers, coaches, rigging team, families, and everyone behind the scenes who helped bring this story to life in the air.

We are endlessly proud of our performers for the courage, teamwork, and artistry they brought to the stage. 🐋

Opening weekend for Alice in Wonderland is officially here. ♟️🐇✨

After months of choreography, costume painting, late night rehearsals, giant props, black lights, flying dancers, load-ins, tech rehearsals, and a few unexpected plot twists along the way… we did it.

So incredibly proud of our dancers, directors, crew, and everyone behind the scenes who helped pull this magical world together. Watching it all finally come to life on stage feels surreal. 🤍

Deep in the belly of the whale… 🐋✨

One of the most magical moments in our production of Pinocchio — where shadows dance across the silks and Pinocchio finally finds Geppetto in the darkness.

🌊The way the aerial silks create the waves, shadows, glowing silhouettes, and shifting light inside the whale’s mouth is pure theater magic ✨

Our dancers have worked so hard bringing this story to life, and this scene is one we cannot wait for audiences to experience live on stage💙

♟️👑 Queens at war in Wonderland… and the chessboard has come to life.

Our White Queen and Red Queen face off in a dramatic duel inspired by Through the Looking-Glass — where every move matters, tempers flare, and nothing is ever quite as it seems. ❤️🤍✨

✨ Through the looking glass we go… ✨

Alice has officially stepped into Wonderland, and our first tech rehearsal is complete. Costumes, cues, lights, flying moments, transitions… all the pieces are starting to come alive.

Now we move into the rest of tech week for our Broomfield show and into show mode — where the magic gets sharper, the energy gets bigger, and Wonderland fully awakens.

We can’t wait to share this journey with you. 🕰️♠️🐇
