Today, we said goodbye to Porky, No. 205, as it wrapped up its first-ever visit to Powerland Heritage Park for the 56th Annual Great Oregon Steam-Up! 🚂

So many visitors got to see this incredible piece of living history up close, and the joy and cheer it brought to the grounds this year was something special. We hope this is the first of more visits to come.

Did you know that Porky spent more than three decades being restored in Independence, Oregon? It was a perfect fit for The Great Oregon Steam-Up!

You couldn't ask for better weather to conclude The Great Oregon Steam-Up! Bring your family for one final day of fun, steam, mini-train rides, trolley rides, a firefighting challenge course, vintage cars, tractors, Steam Traction Engines, Youth Passport Program, museums, an old Steam locomotive, and more! We are open until 6pm!

The last two days of The Great Oregon Steam-Up are tomorrow and Sunday! Join us for great weather, lots of activities, and some very impressive machinery! Don't miss out on the incredible Santa Maria 205 steam locomotive! Meet some of the crew and ask, "Can I ring the bell?" or "Can I sound the whistle?" You might just get a "sure, go ahead!"

We are SO GRATEFUL to Rick Franklin Corporation, Santiam Excursion Trains, and Albany & Eastern Railroad Company for bringing the Santa Maria 205 to The Great Oregon Steam-Up for attendees to enjoy!

There are lots of "one-of-a-kind" things to see at The Great Oregon Steam-Up, including:

- The first truck Fred Meyer drove to deliver groceries.
- The actual movie car from Elvira: Mistress of the Dark.
- The oldest running unrestored school bus in the United States.
- Two columns that survived the Oregon State Capitol fire in the 1930s.
- One of only two Timberwalker prototypes. Think "spider walking machine for forestry operations."
- The massive engine that used to run on Mount Hood.
- A dual D8 Caterpillar!

We look forward to seeing you this weekend!

Tomorrow's the day!

The Great Oregon Steam-Up opens at 7am (most museums and activities don't start until 9am), and the grounds are ready!

And speaking of being ready - this is a photo of the 1903/05 Daniel Best Steam tractor ON THE GROUNDS for The Great Oregon Steam-Up! It will be here for the first two days only (July 25/26).

Steam engines firing up. Fourteen museums waiting to be explored. Kids climbing on machines older than their great-grandparents. The smell of oil, the sound of a whistle, and a hundred small moments you didn't expect. You never know what you'll see at The Great Oregon Steam-Up!

Voted Best Annual Event five years running, and we're bringing our A-game for number six. Bring the whole family, we'll see you at the gate.

There's just TWO DAYS until The Great Oregon Steam-Up. You'll find a lot of records there, too. For example, this is the oldest running unrestored school bus in the United States!

3 days until The Great Oregon Steam-Up!

It's not just steam traction engines, tractors, and fire trucks rolling around the grounds at The Great Oregon Steam-Up. Keep an eye out for vintage cars too. Insider tip: some (not all) owners will happily give you a ride around the grounds in their vintage car if you ask nicely! The Northwest Vintage Car and Motorcycle Museum (look for the Texaco station on the grounds) is a great place to find them.

Two weekends to catch it all: July 25-26 and August 1-2, at Powerland Heritage Park.

Voted Best Annual Event in the Willamette Valley five years straight.
