You might be wondering why we’ve posted this lovely celebration of Jeff Hiller?
It’s really simple. I used to love to see him perform in that basement under the supermarket. I remember standing in line hoping that he’d come scooching by me right before the show to perform that night.
Why? Because he’s unapologetically hilarious, outrageous, curious and available for every idea. This availability to show up inspired me in two ways that I’d like tune up.
1. To have fun playing with your scene partner by letting yourself be present and smart and silly simultaneously.
2. To just keep practicing your craft. Even if that means your show is in the basement. Especially if your show is the basement. Creativity thrives there.
Thank you for reminding us that if you keep showing up, you just might go all the way.

WELCOME BACK, BRADLEY FREEMAN JR. 🎉
Bradley Freeman Jr. has been a puppeteer since age 5, when lip-synching to Season 1 of The Muppet Show became a daily after-school ritual. In 2018, he was one of 30 puppeteers selected out of over 400 international applicants for a Sesame Street training workshop, which led to him landing the role of Wes on Sesame Street. Since then he's worked on The View, Helpsters, Michael Bublé's Christmas in the City, and The Muppets Mayhem.
This fall, Bradley is back at TV Puppetry Academy to help you turn your own puppetry dream into real, working skills.

Delvene is a creative producer, editor, and puppeteer, and the founder of Little Crowns Storyhouse, an award-winning children's education program for ages 0 to 7. She created the immersive Culture Kids workshop, has written for Ladybird Books' Peppa Pig series, and has worked with the BBC Children's team and Disney.
This fall, Delvene joins our Beginner level classes, bringing years of hands-on puppetry and storytelling experience straight to you.

We are so excited to welcome Kurt Hunter to Puppet Building Office Hours this October.
Kurt is a Minneapolis-based puppeteer and innovator whose solo marionette work has earned a UNIMA-USA Citation of Excellence and a Jim Henson Foundation grant. His production "Penguin in my Pocket" -- a show celebrating imagination in science and engineering -- has toured across the US and to India. He studied with two of the great marionette masters, Phillip Huber and Albrecht Roser, and holds degrees in physics and electrical engineering.
Sunday, October 4 at 2pm ET. Live via Zoom. Come ready to geek out.

If you are a parent who has young (or had young kids in the 21st century) then you know at least one of the characters: The Pigeon, Elephant & Piggie, The Duckling, Edwina, Naked Mole Rat, and of course Knuffle Bunny!

I have loved these books since my first daughter was born and I have been privileged to have been a guest on one of the live shows at SF Sketchfest.

It was a beautiful conversation about being married and being in business together, about how creativity turns into craft, and about the importance of artists following their own path.

He is also a board member of the National Capitol Puppetry Guild -- one of the very few non-Americans to hold that distinction.
