I've live in NYC for almost 10 years! When I start to explain my story, im often met with looks as if I am making things up, only because I am a very proud Androgynous, Gay, Black, Man from the South side of Chicago who is never ashamed of where I come from!!!
I want it to be said for the record... I grew up in the Harold Ickey projects, which used to sit a 22nd and state! I've lived in Washington park, Englewood, north Kenwood, and Back of The Yards! I am the South Side of Chicago!
If anyone knows my family from the from mosque no. 2 on 71st and Stony Island, you know I especially in the 90s and early 2000s fought my way through! LITERALLY, I was one of the best Drillers, in Muhammad University, and I was almost Jr. FOI captain!
With that said, my road was not easy! Others saw things that I didn't know! I stopped going to the mosque in 2008, because I felt my life in Ballet was more important, and I regret nothing!
I am the man who I am, because of the Nation! I have no regrets, because it made me the man I am today! However, I am always from the south side! So respect me, no matter my sexuality because for me to be alive is a grace, and I love not only myself, but definitely my QAWI'S because of it!
