Actually, it was 14 years ago that I visited the Great Black in Wax Museum and it has had an impact on me, the way I view myself and what I choose to carry forward in my life. Black Joy! The Brilliancy, The Sacrifice, The Tenacity....etc, etc, I am going back this September 19, 2026. I just learned they had a program for the younger generation called-BAI Communications Interns . JUST SHARING!!!!😎

Our week culminated in each storyteller performing a five-minute piece. We had three choices: a personal story, a story inspired by an object from the Wilmington Museum and Heritage Center, or a social justice story.

I wanted to share some joy from this past week. I attended the Wilmington Black Storytelling Residency, and it was truly an amazing experience. The teachers and fellow storytellers made me feel supported and inspired. I left feeling more confident, with a stronger sense of purpose and a deeper respect for Black storytelling. If I had to sum it up in one word, it would be transformative. ❤️🖤💚
