The cover is a play on Rosetta Stone, imagining a computer screen made out of stone, floating.

In the same way that Rosetta Stone changed the history of writing and our understanding of hieroglyphs, we wonder what will be unlocked by artificial intelligence and what changes it will cause in our lives as designers.

The cover is another image created by MidJourney AI, which we credit as a contributor to the project. All images in this book were created in collaboration with the AI.

Late in May I got access to

These are the early explorations.

The conversation with the AI turned from general image-making to typography. I started playing with prompts that asked it to imagine alphabets & letterforms by different thinkers and artists across history.

Here are some results. Typefaces by:
1. Corbusier
2. Picasso
3. Ellsworth Kelly
4. Dalí
5. Richter
6. Mondrian
7. Josef Müller-Brockmann
8. Foucault

NEW WORK! This is the final Odd Apples 🍎🍏 drop.

A limited edition poster containing the exact sequence of 90 photos by , organized to match the order present in the books published by in 2021.

The photos are arranged in a continuous side-by-side layout, which allows for William Mullan’s photographic color harmonies to fully take over the page. Each apple is identified at the bottom.

These are Museum quality Epson prints on enhanced matte cover stock, and printed with archival inks—the apples look as vibrant as the book itself.

Edition of 20 of the 17x24 in ($150)
Edition of 10 of the 24x33.5 in ($200)

The new A2A logo and identity become a vehicle for techniques of production and experimentation.

Neutral and utilitarian, it mirrors the studio’s culture to reliably adapt to any condition & challenge.

Business cards were printed using Moondream, a special paper which becomes translucent when hot foil stamped. Metallic inks and a variety of special production techniques were deployed in the postcards announcing the launch of the new website and identity.

The typography embodies the spirit of football, with its dynamic, inventive and fluid energy, which anyone who has experienced the sport sees alive on and off the field.

UNO—DUE is a magazine about big issues in culture looked at through the lens of football ⚽️: stories featuring immigrant athletes, LGBTQ+ clubs, and dictatorships, to name a few.

Vol. 3 delves into the personal ways in which each one of us experiences the sport, looking beyond the Messis and Ronaldos of the game.

The design for this issue visually interprets the root of the expression and magazine title “Uno–Due”: the grid and typographic systems play off the idea of a “one-two”, using a combination of a single weight of a Sans (Unica77) and Serif (LL Bradford) that are used interchangeably for display and text.

“Odd Apples” is a celebration of Malus (the apple genus), its stunning diversity, enchanting expression, and our relationship with it. This collection of apple still lifes represents four years and three seasons of researching, reading, finding, tasting, and photographing. Both books are 128 pages, featuring 90 portraits, with words by William and two beautiful poems by the incredibly talented and wonderful Makshya Tolbert .

More details coming in the following weeks. For now, don’t miss your chance of getting one.

Lastly William and I want to thank all of you, whether you have been following and supporting this project since 2018 or you’ve just discover it. Especially .the.pink, Adam Jackman and Stefanie Kruszyk and the wonderful collaborators at

The new website is re-imagined as a tool for the community to access tutorials, resources, community knowledge, and to showcase the community’s work directly on the website—not just as a marketing tool for the app.

The website is typeset using ABC Arizona, an unreleased Variable font drawn by for made entirely within Glyphs App.

The typeface covers a wide typographic range that spans from Sans to Serif, making versatile for any context.

This range is useful for drawing a reader’s attention through weight shifts, creating hierarchy across content blocks, typesetting long articles for optimal readability and creating visually impactful typographic moments.
