KLOMPCHING GALLERY

KLOMPCHING GALLERY KLOMPCHING GALLERY is the premier destination for contemporary fine art photography in Brooklyn, New York City.

The KLOMPCHING GALLERY was established in DUMBO, Brooklyn in September 2007. Owned and operated by Debra Klomp Ching and Darren Ching, the gallery quickly established itself as a gallery with an extraordinary roster of artists from which to purchase some of the best examples of contemporary photography—with exhibition reviews in publications such as The New Yorker, Art Review, Modern Painters, New

York magazine and the Wall Street Journal, as well as numerous notable cultural websites. KLOMPCHING GALLERY was accepted into AIPAD (Association of International Photography Art Dealers) in 2012, and resigned that membership in 2017. Since its inception, KLOMPCHING GALLERY has earned a solid reputation for providing informed guidance on the acquisition of contemporary fine art photography. In May 2015, the gallery relocated to a custom-renovated street-level space, at 89 Water Street.

FREDERIC WEBER
Revenants, 2025
January 12 – March 31, 2026

Klompching Gallery is delighted to present newly released work, from the archive of Frederic Weber.

Weber has worked with the table-top still life, constructing sets with photographic ephemera sourced from magazines, journals, newspapers, and his own archive of photographs. These were subsequently photographed, full-frame, with medium-format film. Printed to exploit the exquisitely rendered colors, the resulting photographs are at once, challenging and visually enticing.

18 years ago, and I, opened the Klompching Gallery, with the launch of Motherland by Simon Roberts. We’ve come such a long way since then. We thank our artists, collectors, and industry peers for supporting our endeavors—it’s been such a wonderful, successful and creative journey thus far.

We’re looking forward to many more years ahead, as we continue to transition to our new business model. Looking forward to announcing our newest exhibition, as well as announcing the annual Fresh Photography Award.

Thank you to everyone who follows and supports our business—we appreciate you so much.

This is a series of photographs, of small-scale sculptures made by the artist, from artifacts found on the foreshore of the River Thames in London, England. They are constructed from pieces of shoe leather and pins. The shoe leather may have been lost by a child in Tudor times, or a ship worker in the 19th century, while the pins were typically hand-made in small workshops (many on London Bridge).
