Co-founders Marie Basse-Wiles, a native of Dakar, Senegal, West Africa and Olukose Wiles of New York, Musical Director, organized Maimouna Keita School of African Dance in 1983 respectively. The school is named in honor of Marie Basse-Wiles' grandmother and is dedicated to preserving and sharing African culture and history with all whom embrace the culture. Each season the Maimouna Keita School of African Dance presents its Annual International Dance Conference & Concert in New York City. The concert features electrifying songs and dances, to bridge the cultural gap between people of all backgrounds.

#ᴛʙᴛ Designing costumes where love and trust resides feeds my soul like water hydrates my body!
I designed and created these costumes myself and then proceeded to hand paint ( by way of using bleach to remove colour to create circles on the edge of costumes) for my beloved sabar teacher Marie B Wiles dance company MKAfricanDanceCenter Maimouna Keita School of African Dance-
Sometimes it is all about the process of archiving desired result.
