hi! tattooing is unfortunately once again at a bit of a hiatus. this industry can be really terrible sometimes. trust your gut, love yourself, and stick to your morals. it’s worth it. 💜

in the meantime, i’m trying to draw something every day. trying not to be precious, or think too hard. just let the pen move. i like how this one came out. 💜

i am beyond honored to be kicking my tattoo career back into gear as part of the team at Cosmic Wizard!!! it’s been such a long time coming, and i’m so grateful to for his faith and guidance in helping me rekindle my passion 💜 i’ll be splitting my time between both locations, and !! you can catch me here at ridgewood all this week :+)

another year passes, another update arrives. i’m alive, but—as you may or may not know—my dad is not.

my amazing father, Kevin McDonagh, passed away extremely suddenly and unexpectedly in april. it turned my life upside down and inside out. this past year has been one of the hardest i’ve ever faced, and as such, art (and tattooing specifically) has felt like it’s slipping even farther from my grasp. i’m fighting to keep the spark alive.

my halloween costume (the caped cod lol) this year is a tribute to one my dad created in the 80s. i couldn’t find any pictures, but according to family legend, dad’s version involved a giant handmade papier-mache fish head and a full length cloak. swipe to see an unrelated pic of my dad (center) and two of his besties dressed as tabasco bottles in the 80s, and the two of us in matching fawn makeup in 2016.

maybe one day i’ll get back to tattooing. i hope so. in any case, please tell the people you love that you love them. you just never know how much time you have.

i miss you every day, dad. ❤️‍🩹

hi! it’s been an entire full calendar year since my last post, which also features the same costume i’m wearing here lmao

i just wanted to say hello, tell you i’m not dead, and confirm what i’m sure you already knew from my lack of content—i’m on an indefinite hiatus from tattooing. i currently work a full-time day job, which pays all right and gives me (extremely vital) health insurance. unfortunately, work combined with my small shared living space means that i very rarely have the time, energy, or physical space that i need to tattoo.

so… just a few weeks ago, i made the tough decision to move all of my tat equipment and supplies into long-term storage. i want to thank each and every person who has trusted me with their skin over these past few years. i *will* tattoo again—it may not be soon, but i know i am fated eventually to return. thank you for following along with and supporting my journey… it’s far from over :+) 💜
