Gallery Players Now in our 59th season, we bring quality theatre to Brooklyn at an affordable cost. Featuring classic and contemporary plays, musicals and new works.

Gallery Players has provided Brooklyn audiences with quality theater since 1967. Gallery is dedicated to producing classic and contemporary plays and musicals as well as premiering new works. The season comprises summer Shakespeare, plays and musicals covering a remarkably wide range of dramatic and comedic styles, and the annual Black Box New Play Festival, which gives world premiere performances

of works by playwrights. Gallery resides in a 99-seat theater in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Gallery's reputation, critical acclaim, and popularity among audiences and artists puts it in an enviable position among its volunteer-only and Off-Off Broadway comparables. Its eclectic programming of intimate revivals and ambitious new work in inventive productions has earned it the reputation of "New York's Best Kept Secret." Among its famous alumni are founding member Harvey Fierstein; Broadway regulars Nancy Anderson, Jeffry Denman, and Diedre Goodwin; New York theater personality Seth Rudetsky; and many others.

Gallery Players is currently seeking a Freelance Graphic Design Artist for their 60th Season and beyond!  To start immediately.

Key Responsibilities:
✨Create print and digital assets for season and individual show posters and postcards as directed by the Gallery Players Marketing Manager.
✨Prepare final files in Adobe Illustrator for both RGB digital and CMYK print production.

Qualifications:
✨Strong portfolio demonstrating graphic design work.

Tools & Skills:
✨Expert proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is required.  
✨Designer will work remotely and must have their own computer and Adobe subscription.
✨Strong knowledge of graphic design fundamentals and awareness of current trends in graphic design.
✨Solid sense of typography, layout, and visual composition.

Rates:
✨Depending on the desired need, fixed rate fee’s range between $100-$300 per design.  Pay is non-negotiable.

Players’ Shakespeare, an arm of Gallery Players in Park Slope, is holding auditions for its upcoming production of Hamlet by William Shakespeare.  This production is Non-Equity. No pay.

Rehearsals will start on June 27th and typically will be in the evening during the week and in the day during the weekends. 

The show will run from July 31st – August 7th.  

Director, Dominic Cuskern.

OPEN CALL auditions will be held in-person at Gallery Players on the following dates: 
Thursday June 4th from 7-10PM
Saturday June 6th from 1-5PM
Thursday June 11 from 7-10PM
Saturday June 13 from 1-5PM

Prepare a one-minute verse monologue from any play by Shakespeare: it can be either dramatic or comic (whatever shows you off at your best).  
Sign up will start 30 minutes prior to the audition start time.  Please bring a resume and headshot.

Callbacks will be held on Sunday, June 14th at the theatre.
