Cymbeline has been such a stretch. It's been a crawl, it's been a roll, often exhausting, always draining, sweet and sad, depressing and enlivening all at once.
I pray that theatre can save us from this wave of sadness. This play of hope in the face of fractures, in the face of isolation, hastiness and terrible accidents, I hope that it's brought to life by the fresh act of performing. The act of activity. The act of doing and of storytelling. Because sometimes telling a story can cause you to spew up your real story. I'm sticking to this play like flypaper, and the glue is melancholy.
