A legendary night at the bandshell ✨💄

Friday night, Radical Joy was on full display as Sasha Velour and her fabulous crew lit up the Lena Horne Bandshell with their showtopping “Nightgowns” r***e. Spectacle, gowns, and even a pirate ship sailed the stage and Brooklyn showed UP to shower these queens with love. This might have been the first time we’ve brought drag to , but y’all made it clear it won’t be the last

A Dream Come True  ⭐️

BRIC President Wes Jackson, a longtime Brian Lehrer listener and fan, appeared on The Brian Lehrer Show at the start of this years’s season. The day was a thrill. Brian conducted the interview by phone, giving Wes his run of the studio - and Wes felt right at home. 

Their conversation was the perfect launch to our 47th festival season, now underway. Thanks to Brian for the invitation, the hospitality, and the opportunity to lift up the work we do at BRIC Arts Media.

35 NEVER FELT SO ALIVE ⚡️

The Lena Horne Bandshell was filled with mad love last night for the 35th anniversary of Lyricist Lounge. The stage was filled with artistry, the vibes were sublime, and Brooklyn came out in droves. A powerful gathering of community.

Big ups to Danny Castro and Ant Marshall for the cultural service you provide and the global platform you’ve built. Shout out to GORILLA NEMS, BOARS HEAD BUBS🐗COLD CUT KING, Chris E Bandz, BIG CO CO, OMAR CRUZ Jourden Cox, LEGENDARY CYPHERS | HIP HOP, TRILLipino 🇵🇭, prodillinger, Swerv Stacks, Ant Marshall, & 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲"Technician The DJ" 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲 for the electricity and bars you brought to this special event.
