Dead Flowers got its start as a celebrated music-centered online platform for its writers' passions and obsessions. It was a place to read about the classics reconsidered, the obscure brought into the spotlight, the lost re-found, and the so-called "marginal" made to matter... Those elements animate Dead Flowers Productions, an enterprise devoted to managing, booking, and promoting bands and projects that ignite those same passions.
Dead Flowers Productions was the in-house booking arm of Brooklyn's Magnetic Field (R.I.P.), and is currently the in-house booker for Hank's Saloon. Dead Flowers has booked shows throughout New York City and across the country, was behind the scenes of the legendary Brooklyn Rock'N'Soul Fests (at the Atlantic Antic), the 'Old School Soul!' concert at the old McCarren Park Pool (in-conjunction with our friends at Todd Abramson Presents and JellyNYC), and recently branched out to curate art shows, including the hugely successful Brooklyn Yes Indeed exhibit. Dead Flowers has also booked many benefit concerts, including ones for victims of the Katrina and Hurricane Sandy disasters, Question Mark (lead singer of '60s garage legends, The Mysterians), and the family of Greg Shaw of the Bomp! empire (one of the company's greatest inspirations), and is currently working closely with the #SaveNYC movement on a number of events and actions. Beyond booking, Dead Flowers managed various acts over the years, including The Black Hollies, The Dansettes, Nouvellas, and The Lost Crusaders.
