Instead, I installed LAX at the for with my beautiful .corp fam

I watched the AMAZING

Baby’s first opera! ☀️
SENSORIUM EX premiered last week and I’m without words to describe the intense, overwhelming, and full experience it was - bold, difficult, lovely, harrowing, surprising, insightful. Ok, maybe I do have some words. The words cannot, however, encapsulate the immensity of this moment for me, for us. Words fail, but the new, blessed variety of utterances I’ve learned to listen to throughout this process - those persist and grow.

There are innumerable people to attribute to the experience but sharing this premiere w my partner x in direction, the duo x bringing the work to life. Paola, I’ll be forever dreaming in your finale.
The cast! The designers! The band! The crew!
and the VISIONARY w superb hosting skills by
FIRST AID CREW: .ham .niederhoffer - I hold you in my heart so deeply
To my fabulous crew of dancers (consultants) I’ll forever speak your name and you’ll always have a place at any table in which I am. x

Videos, thus
#3 writes in camera view but I’m transfixed by the shadows above it that are lit
#4 The opening night bow. Oh!
#7 The chorus revolves around the young Kitsune while our robot Sophia comes to life
#9 Inspired design by a screen flickers at the entrance w Corp’s eye logo pasted atop it
#13 Jay lays in the bed giving a peace sign to the camera
#20 The chorus revolves around illuminated truss trees in our forest as our Sophia sings. It is my crowning staging achievement- something simple yet deep to articulate the way life must persist in spite of everything.

In deep December remembering Volcano 🌋

Our pattern of days were light but deep. Majestic picnics as mermen, ambling walks through jungle, long car rides with tears, falls, friends, trivia, being surprised, sunsets that paint themselves. 15 year friendships that still hold the butterflies and excitement of first meets. Love.

Image Description:
1. Smiling cheesily with one hand on my face in front of a great cliff and churning waters below
2. We three friends smile in the frame. First day
3. Caralie woodworks a stump for an eventual drum, looks up with a wink and tongue out as she hews at it
4. The light-filled entrance from within a lava tube that Tucker took me to; the lush greens end at the mouth of it. Hell, but beautiful?
5. And the Akaka Falls, trailing down powerfully even from where I stand. Misty
6. Boys on the beach, me and Tuck lounging after a dip. The sun glistens
7. Car selfie, slightly vintage hue from yesteryear of me hamming up a smile and Caralie enjoying the backseat as we drive
8. A prophecy by way of some tarot cards read out one lunch. Interesting being, that magician.
9. Tuck and I embrace at dinner. I caress his face and he takes hold of my arm as we giggle.
10. Video of a most important walk in the timeline. Truths told against our shadows. Me and Tuck.
11. Happen to really love this capture of me standing in the lush backyard marveling at the giant monstera wearing all black save my tufted/straw hat.

If you haven’t already, check out To Hold a We on view until December 22 . A gathering group show of 14 artists exchanging about collectivity, memory/archive, body, and ritual.

I have friends in this one, yes, but I was most struck by this almost objective call of community it engendered. It called me in. It’ll call you in.

Image ID: against a green backdrop windy paths of words intersect and drive down the page with introspective questions like, “did you make it to the studio today?”

A black background with four picture boxes: two black people at the top, Aimee Meredith Cox, wearing glasses and luminous shaved head on the left, and me on the right, a chocolate brother wearing a blue worker shirt and cropped blonde hair. Below are two boxes of photos, Andre Lepicki, a slim man engrossed in the middle of an explanation on the left, and a headshot of Bijayini Satpathy wearing glittering facial jewelry and a red sari on the right.
