Cowboy Technical Services Recording Rig was established in 1999 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn as the workshop style recording studio of Producer/Guitarist Eric "Roscoe" Ambel, Engineer/Producer Tim Hatfield. We work with a great collection of recording gear and instruments, vintage and modern, analog and digital featuring the fully loaded 24x32 BURL Mothership convertors. We also offer digital remote

and location recording services with the Cowboy Technical Services Remote Rig. We are set up in the “One Room Plus” configuration with 1 isolation room and 2 additional isolation cabinets. We have added a lot of new features including the fantastic Private Q personal mixing headphone system and a 75 year old Steinway grand piano. Cowboy Technical just moved from Williamsburg to Greenpoint. We are officially up and running as of March 16.2016.

At last nights CTS Holiday Staff Dinner we realized we had not one but two spots we could shoehorn even more gear into our API Audio 2448 Console. On the left in the patch bay bucket there are 5 empty rack spaces. On the right there are 2 remaining 500 series 'wild slots' open. This must be addressed!

Our ‘69 Premier 20” kick usually gets 3 mics at Cowboy Technical Services . There’s a Telefunken M82 dynamic inside the drum and a vintage RCA 44 out front. We also use a Solomon LoFreq dynamic sub kick to get those super lows.

Yesterday we were visited by Andrew Masters, who's a producer/engineer/musician with an amazing YouTube channel that's got all kids of recording studio content. We had a great time explaining our work flow and showing Andrew all the gear at Cowboy Technical including our new custom API Audio 2448 console and ATC monitors. We should have the video for you really soon. https://www.youtube.com//videos

We've been using the Lauten Audio Snare Microphone for a while. We got their super flexible rim mounts too but realized we had to get a set of the new Tom Microphones for our '69 Premier drums. Great microphones.
