The Exponential Festival will return for its 12th season in 2027.

We are accepting applications from performing artists and theatre-makers whose work pushes boundaries, crosses corners, and can be considered experimental, multi-disciplinary, or just plain weird. Whether you are an early-career artist looking to premiere a brand new piece, or a veteran radically reinterpreting your process, we want to hear from you!

Please note that Exponential does not accept applications from artists not based in NYC and we do not remount fully realized pieces. While Exponential does not have a distinct aesthetic mission, we are looking for wild, swing-for-the-fences work that thrives in the context of Bushwick warehouses, living rooms under a bridge, theatre-garages, and standing room only clubs in deep January.

Where else can you find a drag puppet musical about monsters? Or an immersive nonverbal mushroom experience? Or a potluck play about utopias, real and imagined?

For Exponential 2027, we are presenting between 15 - 20 shows.

All performances will take place in January 2027 in Brooklyn venues and online on our YouTube channel.

This application will close on April 1 at 11:59pm ET or when 200 applications have been received.
