TSA New York is an artist-run, artist-curated exhibition space located in Bushwick, Brooklyn and part of the Tiger Strikes Asteroid network of artist-run spaces. TSA New York seeks to invite a dialogue between an eclectic mix of artists and curatorial visions with a focus on emerging artists from New York and beyond. Our exhibitions have been featured in numerous print and online publications incl

uding L Magazine, Bushwick Daily, Artinfo, Artnet News, Beautiful Decay, and the New York Times. Tiger Strikes Asteroid is a network of artist-run spaces with locations in Philadelphia, New York, and Los Angeles. Each space is independently run and focuses on exhibiting a varied program of emerging and mid-career artists. Our goal is to collectively expand connections among artists and build community by bringing them together through exhibitions and curatorial opportunites.

Join us this Saturday, June 6 from 6-8 pm, for an open studio with Jesus Benavente marking the culmination of his six-month TNT residency with Tiger Strikes Asteroid and Transmitter Gallery.

Throughout his residency, Jesus has been developing new work for an upcoming exhibition in Houston, TX, while also dedicating the TNT space to the community through his one-day exhibition series, “Un dia a la vez.”

Opening Reception: Saturday, June 6, 6-8pm

BROOKLYN, NY – Tiger Strikes Asteroid is pleased to present Good News New York, organized by Ethan Greenbaum, opening June 6, 6–8pm. The group exhibition takes its title from an artist’s book by Matt Kenny featuring absurd and sensationalist headlines from New York’s tabloid press. That same wit and inventiveness runs through the work on view, bringing together an intergenerational group of artists, cartoonists, and illustrators united by their use of the city as subject. Spanning painting, prints, and site-specific wall drawings, the work is by turns humorous, hard-nosed, and deeply affectionate.

Participating Artists: Melissa Brown, Martha Diamond, Liana Finck, Scott Goodman, Yvonne Jacquette, Meredith James, and Matt Kenny
