The Nursery is a low-intervention, ecologically-driven urban outdoor space that serves to bring people [+ plants] together. The space revolves around an enveloping, U-shaped passively heated and cooled greenhouse, doubling as a home for our rich collection of outdoor plants and as a private dining space in warmer months.

This summer, we’re hosting our friends from .project for a four-part series: Living Things, an exploration of connection with the earth and each other through artistic workshops, meditations, and music. For this first installation, we hosted a hands-on workshop with artist , creating an improvised sculpture with the ancient building technique, wattle and daub, a sculpt-able blend of clay soil, water, and natural fiber stuck to a woven wooden form.

For the past year, Public Records + have worked together to bring live music to Free Friday Nights. In concert with the ongoing collaboration, PR created a small capsule collection. Focused on the notion of “Form.Content.Meaning” —also the title of the series—the concept references the practice of semiotics, or provoking the connection between fine art and sonic processes, as well as PR’s creative approach to place and experience making. The summer season is fast-approaching 🌿 At 233 Butler, that’s synonymous with a series of outdoor programming set every Sunday in The Nursery. We invite you to join us May to October in our hybrid plant nursery x immersive sound space, just around the corner from PR’s Garden.

His game-like selections create a unique, dreamy atmosphere combining strong basslines with simple melodies and sprinkles of tension.
