On this I was considering an approach for hard and soft edges that I had never tried before. Laying down the initial dark red colors and then creating soft edges by spritzing with a spray bottle. Than layering on top with the blues and pinks without the spritzing for harder edges. This interplay of hard and soft edges can make some areas recede while others come forward.

Just wrapped up a commission for an interior decorator whose client has a nostalgia for cowboys. 

I leaned into my layered “pentimenti” process for this one, folding preliminary sketches right into the final piece so you can see the idea taking shape beneath the layers of paint rather than just the finished result.

If you are looking for custom art, I have a couple of openings this month. I base commissions on a theme meaningful to the owner, and customize the size and color palette to complement the room. Interior designers and homeowners both welcome.

I have a couple of commission openings coming up this July. I work closely with both interior decorators and individuals to create bespoke artwork. I can create a small or large-scale painting based on one of my existing artworks or create something new based on a theme and complementary color pallets to your space. I’m also comfortable pivoting between vibrant abstracts, contemporary works, classical portraiture, or even playful pieces for a kid’s bedroom.
