Laura Colby founded Elsie Management in 1995 for the sole purpose of representing her contemporary dance friends and peers at the annual Arts Presenters conference – APAP. Today, Elsie Management promotes the careers of national and international performing arts companies on stages and via performance opportunities across the globe. We are dedicated to promoting exceptional, award-winning performi

LaTasha Barnes performs "The Look of Love" on Sat, Jan 10 as part of the Dance Managers Collective Showcase!

Multi Bessie Award–winning LaTasha Barnes presents an excerpt for her full-length solo that reflects on how love has shaped her life. Performed with a live band, “The Look of Love” blends recorded voices from her chosen “Framily” into the soundscape, which Barnes experiences as a deeply embodied, physical sensation. Through Hip Hop, Swing, House, and Funk, she creates a heartfelt love letter to her influences—and a promise to those who came before her to love boldly and without fear.

Soles of Duende performs excerpts from "The Kitchen" on Sat, Jan 10 as part of the Dance Managers Collective Showcase!

Premiering in winter/spring, 2027, The Kitchen features three sensational percussive dance performers: Amanda Castro (Tap), Arielle Rosales (Flamenco), and Brinda Guha (Kathak), accompanied by three musicians. Performance exchanges shift from a six-beat partner-facing Sevillanas into a trio composition, morphing into an emotional 16-beat character g*t, to a play on the world-renowned communal Shim Sham, and more. The Kitchen embraces joy while acknowledging the challenges of difference.

"Bill's 44th" by Dorothy James & Andy Manjuck at HERE Arts Center, Jan 9 & 10

Hailed by The Guardian as a “tender and boozy puppet party,” Bill’s 44th is a non-narrative tragicomedy for grown-ups with one very worried leading man – Bill. The streamers are hung, the punch has been spiked, and the cake is just begging to be eaten! Now all Bill has to do is wait for his guests to arrive. Many styles of puppetry, raucous balloons, and a cheeky piece of crudité all collide to examine the pitfalls of impatience, the wonder of loneliness, and the universal passage of time.
