THIS MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14: We're honored to host Pulitzer Prize finalist Ed Park, in celebration of his genre-bending, mesmerizing new memoir Three Tenses! The book is drawn from a long-lost manuscript he rediscovered in 2020 and describes as a “mosaic-like” assemblage of childhood memories, “chance observations” from travels across the globe, “musings on Korean History and delusions of grandeur, outright invention…and magical thinking.” Read an excerpt at The Paris Review:

Our jam-packed summer season was a blast, and we wrapped it up with a night of Powerhouse Women—stellar authors Deb Olin Unferth, Julie Buntin, Elizabeth Crane, Patricia Park, Sarah Wang, and Rebecca Chace, who mesmerized sn enthusiastic crowd! There were special treats—New Skin face masks from Sarah Wang, friendship bracelets from Rebecca Chace, and jaw-dropping standup comedy from Patricia Park! Book sales were brisk, and we loved seeing friends and fave alums in the room, including brilliant Graywolf Press editor Yuka Igarashi, Brian Gresko, Ed Lin, Maisy Card, and Malcolm Tariq! On Monday we closed out our summer season with outstanding readings and stand-up comedy by Powerhouse Women! Huge thanks to stellar authors Deb Olin Unferth, Julie Buntin, Elizabeth Crane, Patricia Park, Sarah Wang, and Rebecca Chace, who shared work about an end-of-world romance, a ghost who revives a broken friendship, a burnt-out language police officer, cosmetic surgery gone awry, and a boundary-blurring relationship with a heavy power imbalance, plus spot-on stand-up comedy calling out racial stereotypes. And sending lots of ❤️ to our amazing audience!
