OUR MOTTO: "We Won't Grow Up!"

OUR MISSION: Our goal is to bring quality, affordable children's theater to the community, and to instill in our youth a love of the theater. OUR ORIGINS: The Peter Pan Players was founded in Brooklyn, NY in 2012 by its director/producer, Christine DeMoor. She was inspired to do so by Frank McCourt, the Pulitzer Prize winning author of "Angela's Ashes," who suggeste

d that she bring children's theater to the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn, where he once lived. And Christine still remembers the joy she experienced, when her parents took her to children's musicals as a young child. She has performed in numerous musicals and plays Off-Broadway, Off-Off-Broadway, and in community theater productions. Her favorite children's theater roles have included her portrayals of the Queen of Hearts in "Alice in Wonderland" and the Wicked Stepmother in "Cinderella." She has also acted in TV commercials. Christine has trained as a singer in opera technique. And she has been a U.S. ballroom and Latin dance champion, an accomplished tap dancer, and a skilled competitive fencer. Christine is also the owner of DeMoor Speech Therapy in Brooklyn. She has worked with children as a speech-language pathologist over 25 years.

I would really love to be in Never Never Land right now! How about everyone else?

And that's my home where dreams are born,
And time is never planned.
Just think of lovely things.
And your heart will fly on wings,
Forever in Never Never Land.

You'll have a treasure if you stay there,
More precious far than gold.
For once you have found your way there,
You can never, never grow old.

I just realized that it's Liza Doolittle Day!

In case you're wondering how this day got started, here you go! Julie Andrews, playing Eliza Doolittle, sings to an offstage Rex Harrison, playing Henry Higgins:

"One day I'll be famous, I'll be proper and prim
Go to St. James so often, I will call it St. Jim.
One evening the king will say, "Oh, Liza, old thing –
I want all of England your praises to sing.
Next week on the twentieth of May
I proclaim Liza Doolittle Day."
