Please come to NEXT WEEK MONDAY 4/27 for the upcoming World Tr*******al Forum, featuring panelist Jordy Rosenberg () discussing his just-published novel NIGHT NIGHT FAWN.

's summary: "The author tries to come to terms with everything he hates, politically and interpersonally, by writing a fictional novel from the pov of his oppressive, judgmental mom (but she is redeemed by being somewhat observant and theatrical)." The epigraph seems to compare the project to "A film... which follows the life story of a member of the SS in all its pathos."

Do you love hearing the internalized voice of an oppressive, judgmental, 20th century Jewish parent -- and seek it out in novels? If so, you will love this discussion.

And as always, stay for the open mic, zines, and culture. :)

Did you know the World Tr*******al Forum is happening in 4 days? On MONDAY 3/30, we are interviewing Charlie Markbreiter (), co-author of JAW FILLER. Everyone knows that plot and satire are for boys and autofiction is for girls -- and this novel, which critics have called "a searing, noir-flavored lens into the world of terminally online guys" -- defintitely doesn't have any girls.

Join us on MONDAY, as we clench our collective faces in healthy contemplation of this tense novel that "like all noir... exists within a context of omnipresent, lugubrious evil, and fatalistic stupidity." Followed by open mic! Please come by and bring your prose/poems/powerpoint presentations/etc! There will be zines and free jaw filler for all.

On MONDAY FEBRUARY 23, the World Tr*******al Forum is convening. again! We will be discussing syntax with Ching-In Chen ( ). Can it be manipulated to reveal hidden or missing information -- perhaps, as part of some sort of archive-based poem? Shiny City, their just-published work "examines the ‘real’ and imagined history of Riverside, California’s Chinatown, juxtaposed with a speculative shiny city of the global future. Word by word, syntax by syntax, Chen projects the essential and unrecorded voices of the Chinese immigrants who picked and packed fruit in Riverside's citrus groves and worked as house servants in the late 1800's through the 1930's, as well as the travelers and inhabitants of 'shiny city' as they navigate its accelerated process of growth and decay."

Then we will manipulate YOUR syntax and reveal YOUR missing information. With open-mic performances. That you will sign up for. Please come to for talking, zines, poetry, literary theory, and eloquent tr*******al wit, streamed on twitch :)

Open mic sign-ups at 7:30, show starts at 8, panel at 9.

The first World Tr*******al Forum (Open Mic and Panel) of 2026 is MONDAY, JAN 26 -- featuring panelist Megan Milks () discussing all things tr*******al and dairy. Milk is a nutritious (allegedly) white fluid that signifies normalcy, but also trans people drink it at times? Certainly, it can help sculpt -- or emerge from -- a healthy mammalian torso.

The essays in MEGA MILK explore the author's experience as a trans writer, naturally interested in alternatives to traditional family structures, who shares a last name -- and also some type of relationship with wholesome traditional family values -- with the titular liquid.

"I’m interested in that other space—the q***r capacities of family, the trans potentiality of milk. I’m interested in what we can learn about, not family per se, but kinship—-that 'radical and open-ended field of relational experimentation'-—through milk. Who and what nourishes us?... I’m also interested in kinship’s milkiness: its fluidity and malleability, its leaky excesses, its variable shelf lives and propensities to sour... collected together, [these essays] might reflect the gorgeous mess of my many attachments, familial and not, at the same time as each offers a fluid container for some of what I have learned about milk."

DON'T FORGET IT'S AN OPEN MIC ALSO
Come sign-up, read literature, and/or "literature" 😉

has been described as a "leading critic of assimilationist trends in gay culture" so that tells you something. And this book is a nonlinear but aesthetically cohesive account of what it's like to BE gay, both in the "the reverse reality of club culture" and in the harsh reality of the contemporary world.

The month of September is not complete without another edifying installment of the Next World Tr*******al Forum at ! It is just a few days away!! On MONDAY September 29, we are talking to writer/editor MARGOT ATWELL () about "Absolute Pleasure: Q***r Perspectives on Rocky Horror" -- their new anthology of essays by 26 q***r and trans writers who have all had some kind of personal and critical engagement with the musical and 1975 movie Rocky Horror Picture Show, which we've heard is relevant to some trans people? Why are tr*******als always talking about horror anyway? Is it problematic?

Find out on MONDAY 9/29, and please bring your own (we're sure) completely innocuous tr*******al writing to share at open mic portion of the event! And get drinks at the bar and stuff!!!

Sign-ups at 7:30, open mic starts at 8!!

MONDAY 8/25

The time for the World Tr*******al Forum's annual corporate-inflected yearly retrospective is here. We have been planning this for a long time, yet it is happening in a few short days. MONDAY AUGUST 25. Please join us at for our world-renowned tr*******al open mic, where -- this month -- YOU are the panelist. To represent this, a reasonable sampling of audience members might be selected to join us on stage for an empathetic one-on-one, where we can talk about the evolving nature of the show, and literature, and say things like "pain points" and "circling back."

We will look through the window at what has passed and what is to come. We will ask ourselves: "Maybe the Knuckles plushie should have hands?", and similar topics of importance to tr*******als.

Come through and don't forget to bring your literary work to the open mic, which has sign-ups at 7:30pm and starts at 8pm, as always. It will be streamed on twitch!
