TRAP by Aisha Tandiwe Bell is open at Arcade Project Curatorial at 56 Bogart in Bushwick all weekend, 12-6pm.

Pictured: “Say what now? Hmmm…” 2022, acrylic, clay, glaze, and metal leaf on wood, 11x14 in. The blue glaze used on the ceramic head in this piece recalls the cobalt blue glazes of Delftware porcelain and the early modern networks of global trade that transported not only ceramics but enslaved Africans as well.
