They sweated it out with cameras in hand, found ways to keep batteries charged when the power didn’t, and never stopped chasing the moments that deserved to be remembered. For years we’ve been calling for Magical People.

For years, you’ve answered the call.

No year more than this one proved the extraordinary magic that lives within the people who call themselves CAMPers.

We didn’t get the CAMP we planned.

We got something else.

A weekend that tested us with record-breaking heat, powerful storms, and more curveballs than we could have imagined.

And through it all, we watched this community do what it does best:

Show up for one another.

With creativity over complaint.

Again.

And again.

And again.

With bright smiles, open hearts, and a generosity so alive it felt electric.

Volunteers. Artists. Performers. Build teams. Tech crews (oh, how we bow to you, Tech Crew). Kitchen crews. Guardians. Medics. DJs. Workshop leaders. And countless CAMPers stepping forward over and over again to ask one simple question:

“What needs to happen next, and how can I help?”

That is the kind of magic you can’t schedule.

It’s the kind that only appears when a community chooses each other.

And oh, how we’d keep choosing this community a thousand times over.

🍞🔥 LIGHTLY TOASTED 🔥🍞

Lightly Toasted began with a simple idea: if the space doesn’t exist, create it.

After finding community at CAMP and other festivals, the founders of Lightly Toasted saw incredible stages, activations, and experiences inspired by Black and Brown culture and sounds—but often without Black and Brown people at the center. So they decided to build something of their own.

What started as a single cabin of mostly BIPOC campers in 2023 has since grown into a thriving community with multiple CAMP activations, year-round events on both coasts, and a dedicated home for Black and Brown campers and allies.

Since day one, Lightly Toasted has brought a new flavor to CAMP while complementing the amazing community that already exists here. Black and Brown experiences remain at the heart of the collective, with q***r members continuing to play an important role in shaping and growing the community. Along the way, Lightly Toasted has become a beacon for BIPOC campers looking for connection, representation, and a place where they can feel seen and supported both at CAMP and beyond.

This year, they’ve got plenty cookin’:

🐼 A huge, heartfelt thank you to our Safety Pandas.

One of the reasons CAMP feels so magical is because there are people quietly working behind the scenes to help protect that magic.

Our Safety Pandas don’t just show up for one weekend—they spend the entire year helping steward CAMP’s culture of consent, care, and accountability. They receive and navigate community concerns, support difficult conversations, build safety systems, train volunteers, and work tirelessly to ensure that when we gather, there is a thoughtful structure in place to support our community.

When CAMP begins, they’re joined by our incredible team of Guardians—dedicated, sober volunteers who spend their weekend holding space, offering support, connecting campers with resources, and helping anyone who needs a moment to feel grounded.

It’s work that often goes unseen.

It asks for patience, empathy, emotional resilience, and an enormous amount of heart.

The truth is, our Safety Pandas and Guardians carry a tremendous amount of emotional labor—not because they have to, but because they genuinely care about this community and the people in it.

So if you see a Panda or Guardian this weekend (look for panda headbands and blue illuminated armbands!)...

Not because we book bigger acts.

Because more of **you** keep stepping into the role of creator.

This year you’ll witness breathtaking circus spectacle. Stumble upon aerialists suspended among the trees. Catch musical theatre numbers when you least expect them in the Saloon. Marvel at the pole prowess inside the Rub-a-Dub-Dub Club. Wander into immersive rituals. Find yourself inside a late-night cabaret. Encounter fire artists, burlesque performers, circus acts, and archetypes that seem to materialize out of nowhere.

Performance at CAMP isn’t something you simply sit and watch.

It’s something you accidentally (or not so 😏) become part of.

🌿 One of CAMP’s core values is Environmental Mindfulness.

Yesterday’s first-ever pre-CAMP Magic Closet Clothing Swap was a beautiful reminder that sustainability doesn’t have to feel like sacrifice, it can be joyful, creative, collaborative, and deeply community-oriented.

We’re not delusional. “Leave no trace” sounds noble, but for a gathering of this size, it’s a fantasy. What we *can* do is practice ecological mindfulness and, where possible, push further toward genuine regeneration.

One of the things we’re most proud of is that CAMP is quite literally built from community treasure. Much of our infrastructure, décor, props, furniture, and costumes have lived many lives before finding their way into these magical spaces. We source antiques, salvage, and use secondhand materials whenever possible, and year after year those same pieces are lovingly repaired, reinvented, and reused again... and again... and again.

This year we’re also expanding our composting and recycling efforts, donating art and props we no longer need, and creating spaces like the Magic Closet to keep incredible costumes in circulation instead of headed for landfills.

We’re far from perfect — but we’re getting better every time we gather.

🌟Here’s how you can help:

🌱 Don’t moop! Pack out what you pack in.
♻️ Properly use the compost and recycling stations.
👗 Thrift, borrow, or visit the Magic Closet instead of buying new.
🤝 Plan shared resources with friends to prevent excess.
💧 Avoid single-use items—bring reusable containers, bottles, and bags.

Small choices, made by hundreds of people, add up to something pretty magical.

Let’s leave CAMP a little better than we found it — and each other, too. ✨
