This year as i celebrate, i also lament and can’t ignore the Asian hate crimes that are on the rise since the pandemic (1900% increase!) i myself have experienced racial slurs and pandemic related hate. i don’t often talk about this publicly and have even tried to hide myself from it but it is who i am, a Chinese American. i am using my voice to speak out and keep each other accountable to denounce xenophobia and keep advocating for racial justice for all.
