READER SPOTLIGHT: Happy Bunbun

Happy Bunbun has been a gogo dancer, stage performer, and social service advocate for over a decade, and had recently returned to dabble in Nerdlesque as an extension for her love of cosplay, fandom, and fanservice. For Bare Book Club she's combining that love with her love for her Filipina heritage and mythological history. A history that has been unfortunately suppressed socially and culturally over time as a result of colonialism.

Babia Majora is a non binary artist and activist who saunters all the way along the gender spectrum. Just named one of Canada's top 3 Xlesque (non binary burlesque) performers, they are a proud member of Canada’s first BIPOC centred burlesque troupe, Les Femmes Fatales, and thrive when making spaces for trans, non binary, gender nonconforming, and of course their fellow gaysian performers.

Combined with money raised during Anja Keister's latest Twitch fundraiser, we were able to donate $150 to Zebra Coalition to help LGBTQ+ youth in Florida!

At Bare Book Club NYC we are excited to continue our raffle tradition of having 1/2 the sales go to a charity.
Tonight's charity is the Zebra Coalition which is a network of organizations which provide services to le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender and all youth (LGBTQ+) ages 13 – 24.
The Coalition assists young people facing homelessness, bullying, isolation from their families, and physical, sexual and drug abuse with individualized programs to guide them to recovery and stability.
With the "Don't Say Gay Bill" happening down there, we only saw it fit to make sure those LGBTQ+ youth have more of a chance.
