‘New York Now’ is a program of three dynamic revivals of works celebrating connection, resilience, and the multiplicity of identity.
The evening includes ‘newave’ a duet by Mio Ishikawa to music by Tushrik Fredericks, danced by Ian Debono and Matthew Spangler. ‘x dance’ a solo performed and created by Moscelyne ParkeHarrison, and ParkeHarrison’s ‘say i am you.’ Originally performed by Post:ballet in 2022, ‘say i am you’ will be revived with dancers Ny Opong, Colin Frederick, Miriam Gittens, Quaba Ernest, Ashley Green, Lieana Sherry and Marcus Sarjeant.

Filling the Shell: Work in Progress showing at CPR, February 8, 2026.

Through iterative processes of techno-somatic and texture based choreographic exploration, sensory feedback, and technological intervention, ARESPHERE X BODYSONNET investigates how identity is shaped, fractured, dissolved, and reassembled—within and beyond the body—through the ongoing development of this evening-length work.

Tracing the figure of a living ghost in the aftermath of war, the piece moves through shifting temporal landscapes as she searches for answers coming from feelings of loss, gathering fragments of self along the way.

Moving across generations, Filling the Shell traces fragmented memories, inherited emotions, and embodied histories. The work unfolds through a hybrid performance language that merges choreographic research with interactive technologies, sound, and visual environments. Rooted in experimentation, Filling the Shell exists as an evolving research project. Through iterative processes of movement exploration, sensory feedback, and technological intervention, ARESPHERE X BODYSONNET seeks to examine how identity is shaped, lost, and reassembled within and beyond the body with the continuous development of the evening length piece.

Last week BODYSONNET hosted our second NEWAVE, a training platform for pre-professional/newly professional dancers and passionate teaching artists to flourish. Thank you to all the dancers and Teaching Artists Gabe Katz, Tiare Keeno, Dava Huesca, Madison Olandt, and Ohad Mazor, for being a part of NEWAVE 2026.
